<a href='http://www.gamespy.com/titlefight/' target='_blank'>GameSpy's recent Title Fight</a> feature made me start thinking: what if winners were decided on something that wasn't so dependent on sheer popularity? (example: Diablo II beating Knights of the Old Republic). Then I started thinking: What if it was the <i>characters</i> duking it out instead of just games on the whole?
So in order to provide us all with something entertaining, I've decided to royally abuse my ability to set up polls to host an unofficial Off Topic Forum Character Brawl! You all even get a chance to have your input before the first votes get counted. We need characters to fight, and I can't think of every buttkicking character that exists, so I'll need you all to give me all the great characters you know.
1: I need to be able to use Google to pictures <i>easily</i> find pictures of the nominated character and look up who they are, what they're capable of, what they've done, etc. This is so that I can provide info/commentary with each poll so everyone knows the contenders.
1a: there was a rule saying "game, movie and comic book characters only;" the main point of that rule was so I could easily get pictures. If you know an equally good character that comes from a book (such as Tom Clancy's John Kelly/John Clark) then they can be nominated <i>if</i> you can get pictures of the character.
2: Evil and good characters are allowed
3: nominate as many characters as you'd like
4: try to nominate <i>individual</i> characters please. There are no intentions to have a matchup like "the Borg vs. the crew from the 1st Aliens movie."
5: if you'd like to suggest that your character be matched up against another nominee (or nominee<u>s</u>!), say so.
6: no whining about how this is becoming more and more like a ripoff of what Gamespy or Gamefaqs has been doing for ages. We know.
7: if you're willing to make simple flowchart-like graphics for the brackets, or you're willing to host such images, let us know.
