Year of the Gamer? Sure I mean Half Life 2 supposedly comes out this year, but it is also Year of the Major Letdowns, what with the canning of Sam and Max 2 and the "shelving" of Fallout 3....

I can't even beat the game on Legendary :\ I have beat the first and last levels and a few between, but The Index is the major level that keeps me from beating it. I can do it all on Heroric, but that's not really anything major :X
in halo 2 you can jump on vehicles and kick the driver out while it's still moving o.O
Anyways... Run from PSO III! RUN!!! I've seen videos of it in action and it looks insanely boring. Seriously... they took out one of the things I truely loved about PSO (real-time combat with timing... ohhh the boss fights... ) and replaced it with one of the slowest moving board-games with cards I've ever witnessed on a console screen -.-
with the new tekki/steel battallion: front line forces being online I'm severely tempted =3 Just wish they'd stop renaming stuff when it gets outside of japan... tekki is such a cool name, and 'Assault suits vulcan' sounded way niftier than 'cybernator' @.@

lol flint
hm..
if i could mod a PC version of PSO, i would make one with bigger levels... slightly more open space. none of this maze crap that gets so tedious.
i would put more enemies in these open spaces. the damage ratios would go down: enemies would die faster, but there would be more enemies. to compensate for direct-fire weapons (not sweeping ones), direct fire weapons would do more damage.
and the final ingredient: increase movement speed 2x!
i hate having to wait like 5 minutes between each combo >_>
lol, well I never said ep II was good either did I? ^~
The only saving grace for ep II in my book was the gar griffon and the final, underwater lab level complete with olga falz. Outside of that it was far too similar to ep I and the training levels are one of the most ill-concieved things they could've put in the game. Generally the whole thing felt rushed and it didn't add enough to justify itself =/ They could've expanded on the combo system, they could've made the special attacks on weapons not suck completely to the point of being laughable, more magic, new bosses, making the mags more interesting... buuut instead we got reskinned stuff and they thought they could cheekily pass off some redone battle levels as 'virtual' levels -.-
edit: actually my goal is to make a PSO inspired mod... but without the mistakes lol. The gun system sucked making the rangers one of the most amazingly boring chars to play in the whole game. The combo system being locked at 3 hits was weird too o.O And definitely more boss fights... and mags with personality instead of just floating stat boosters with crud magblasts.
I liked those massive dogs at the Seabed. I didn't like the slowdown when playing that level online. I really, really liked Seaside and Mountain (pretty). I hated that awful Temple, I mean come on, try harder.
Geminosity, I don't understand why you bought Ep2 if you couldn't get online.
lol, like I said I thought I WAS gonna be able to play it online =3
The temple combined with the camera system (which felt a lil more glitchy than it did on the ole DC) was a nightmare. The spacestation levels were boring too.
Seaside and mountain were pretty and I loved looking at them but as actual levels they were too short and small to really satisfy me. I wanted another 'forest' sized level or four (and I mean forest 1 AND 2 plus the boss room when I talk about size here). Instead the 4 control room areas felt excessively tiny and barely lasted. Not to mention that outside of the cloaking robots the enemies for the control room area just didn't seem all that great. The gibbon thingies were more annoying than cool, the gees are a severe annoyance (like claws really but infinitely more irritating to the point of not being enjoyable) and those plants were pretty pathetic =P
Despite being a weird remake Gol dragon was actually pretty interesting to fight =D
*sigh* Weekly PSO discussion rears its head, making me feel left out. Oh well, I'll just suggest that all of you BF1942 owners download Forgotten Hope. Easily the most entertaining game/mod thus far of 2004. They've got historical sights for tanks and everything, it's a WW2 bonanza. They've also managed to make Pacific theater maps fun, something that vanilla BF lacked.
Anyways, I'm itching to play with some people that I'm at least familiar with, rather than a bunch of newbs, so please download the freakin' thing and PM me. Now!

True, but I would've liked it a LOT more if the fighting system was more intricate, like a real fighting game (More than 3 hit combos...). Imagine being able to pull a 24-hit combo on one of those civilian people. Ha, I don't need your Hypo Spray...

*Er hem* Does anyone know if a sequel to Oni is in the works? I thought that game had a lot of potential.
As it was though, not half bad. Better than most of the stupid Kung Fu stuff we have now...
And just imagine it with post-matrix effects.
