Personal Opinion : GTA sucks. Repetitive, boring, no fun.

    Typical GTA game :

Run around, kill stuff, run around, steal car, drive around, kill stuff, get killed. Repeat.

How can you find a game like this fun?

It is the most boring game i have ever played.

All games are repetative. You're a silly. heh.

GTA is one of the least repeditive games that I have ever seen, in GTA you can run, beat people up, shoot AND drive all with fairly intresting and fleshed out results. Most games simply don't have that much freedom, and the ones that do rarely implement it nearly as well as it is in GTA.

I can't think of a more reptitive game than the GTA series.

Even pong was more fun.... (BTW the computer had some sort of h4x on that i swear...)

Thats my point, its all the same. Run/drive around and shoot stuff. Thats the whole point of the game.

Theres no (decent) story and the whole idea of the game is to drive around and kill as many people as possible. At least in other games theres the chance to feel like you've accomplished something rather than just go around killing whatever you see.

You didn't actually play the game did you?

GTA: Vice City has a top notch storyline. And not all missions are just mass murdering people with a car (that's just the in between mission fun)...

I take it you didn't make it to any of the missions, then? Didn't notice the small but memorable details and easter eggs in the cities? Never listened to the witty music stations? Comparing GTA to Pong? Try harder.

give me the name of one game that has more features than run shoot beat drive, you can even fly stuff in the game. without going into more specific details there simply isn't one that exists. The goal of the game is clear and undiluted, become the boss of the city, and laugh your **** off doing it. True, you dont get to save the world or fight with super beings, but in real life, who does?

     GTA
GTA3 was excellent, Vice City made numerous improvents [made it alot cleaner think 1.04 compared to 2.0, it looked alot more polished but it's basically the same]

    and now San Andreas!

    EFF YA

I can hardly wait to try and get %100 percent complete

    [edit]
In GTA3 if you have the jumping car code on and you jump around in the second island I discovered written on the wall of a courtyard "YOUR NOT SUPPOSED TO BE ABLE TO GET IN HERE"

    I love easter eggs

If i wanted to go around searching for stuff in a game most of the time i'd play an adventure game of some sort.

If i wanted to listen to witty music stations i'd go listen to some shoutcast radios.

The entire point of the series is too run around killing stuff. After a minute it gets boring...

    You're the bore!

This is going to be excellent, you can always count on a GTA game to make a few months happy-happy-joy-filled.

Oh, and Silverfish, you're wrong. If anything, GTA2 was the disappointment, although it was fun for a while. GTA1 was simply fantastic.

Sounds nice, just too bad that I'll have to wait for a PC version, which they won't exactly be quick to release if I'm not mistaken. By the way Jimmeh, there's a serious difference between a boring game and a "not my style" game, being that even cult games can be "not my style" games, but even so, insulting cult games get you a full fan-base's worth of flames for your personal enjoyment.

I know jimmeh seems to be alone on this one, but I have to jump in wondering how anyone can possibly think of it as repetitive...

you do tons of interesting + funny missions... get bored of the missions? beat some ppl up. bored of that? hop on a motorcycle and do some drive-bys... bored of that? do some stunts. bored of that? do some ambulence/fire truck/taxi/police/etc missions... bored of that? try to find some hidden packages and easter eggs. bored of that? try to see how many stars you can get and jack a tank, and then run some police missions in it. bored of that? hop in an army helicopter and rain fiery death on the city, or do some police missions in THAT. STILL bored?! then you've taken too much Ritalin today...

Unfortunately, its a PS2 exclusive to begin with.....so that means that I will have to either shell out money to buy a PS2 before october 19 (which could be a possibility, it is 5 days after my B-day and the PS2 could have another price drop by then) or wait until it comes out on the Xbox or PC....

I just refuse to buy a PS2, but I will break down eventually and get one...

Jimmeh, sorry but you're alone on this one I fear. Are you sure you don't just dislike the game because everyone else likes it? I know people that do that, some guy at my church always votes no on everything... the new budget, accepting new ministers, etc. etc. and his reason is it isn't right if a unanimous verdict occurs.

personally i loved the GTA games, well most of them at the most lol. They did have a good storyline once you get into them. Granted just today i started to play GTA3 again from the beggining and its a little bland "go pick up misty" "go beat up some crack dealer" But then you start to get into it and the Donald Love missions were quite cool. I always love a good chase and running around in a armored vehicle with people shooting at you is a good chase. Vice City, all i have to say is LOVE!! Though i did find it easier then GTA3, and i beat Vice City in the first 4 days it came out (no exageration it came out on a wensday i beleive and around noon on sunday i beat it) The dialog is top notch with great voice actors and so did GTA3 if you notice whos actually saying the words. For all who didnt notice i suggest pick up GTA3 again and listen to every piece of dialog, tell me who Joey Leone is... or Luigi from the Club. I didnt find them too repeptive though some were a little bland granted. But hey, the feedom it gives you to ride through a whole city in a number of vehicles is great in my oppion. The only time i have felt that the game got repetitive is after the numerous times i beat them. So inconclusion ladies and gentlemen, San Andreas im looking forward too full heartly, and no one can change my mind. ROCK ON!

Yah there really is no reason not to like GTA or at least no reason to hate it.

I mean it's so open that I even invented a new mini game in Vice City.

If you manage to get bored of everything try "Car Surfing"

Hop on the roof of a car in traffic and shoot the hood, see how long you can keep the car moving and not fall off.

I'm not an avid GTA fanboy but with the amount of games that are utterly dissapointing calling GTA a bad game is just uncalled for.
