So I Am Back From Boot Camp
<div class="IPBDescription">USMC Recruit Depot San Diego</div> Well, I left you Dec 1, 2003 and here I sit, 3 months later.
About 4 hours ago I had my dismissiel and left the base for my 10 days leave.
Going back to Houston, (and my computer) on Sunday. right now i am at my grandfathers house and am just relaxing. I like not having DIs yell at me <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
Its going to be hard to belive but, I really liked it. Some parts, were really fun. Shooting the M-16, the day movement courses, learning how to patrol and drill, I will always remember.
The DIs did some really funny stuff as well. The hardest part sometimes was not busting out laughing. We had a really great platoon, we won honor platoon.
The PT was not as tough as I thought it would be, but I did lose a lot of weight.

Was it as hard as I've heard? I personally think it's mostly all mental, but a lot of it is physical.

I know a few people in the army and air cadets. They meet up at the TA centre. They love it. They just go a day or two per week and train, shoot guns, etc like you said. i tried to get into the normal army when i was 16.. they reccomended i hit the army training college which is an officer fasttrack program.. it took a certain intellect level...

i passed fitness easily.. i was alot smaller then.. i was 6 ft and 180 lbs. now im 6 ft and 268 (i got 8% body fat..) so yeah i bulked out ALOT muscle wise...
but yeah... i have a paralysed muscle in my left eye. aka 'Duanes Syndrome'
so yeah.. they wouldnt take me.. stupid ****... they lost somebody who wouldve given up everything to fight for his country..
Mainly because it sounds a little more interesting than being a footslogger.
would be nice to know what the requirements are, if any. i'm a little on the short side.. but that's really my only concern.

1. What was it like? What sort of stuff did you do? Was it hard? Was it physically hard? Was it psychologically hard?
- For me it was more psycho, I was pretty fit when I joined…. It depends on what kind of shape you are in. A lot of it is the Dis are always on your case about everything, little things…
2. I have a question, how long before you go to either hatia or Iraq?
-Don’t know, I will find that out when I get out of SOI and into my unit.
3. I myself, live near MCRD in san diego. Really nice place, as I also will be involved in the military after college, but in the Air Force. How'd you like it down here? nice place huh?
-I loved the weather…. Only rained 3 times while there, unfortunately it was on my graduation day.

-Nope, they can’t hit you anymore, they can push, but they usually don’t.

-I shot a 208 out of 250, 2 away from a sharpshooter rank and 12 from expert… not to proud of it but I will get another chance soon.
