If enough people like it, I may put some in my map.

    That sounds like a pretty fun idea.

    But the problem is, anything you have running in the RR is just going to slow down the server without really adding anything to your map, and people might join a server just to play around in the RR rather than play the map it's self.

    I'd advise against it. You don't really want something in your RR that will distract too many players from joining the game (which, after all, is the point). I'd expect it'd get annoying for some players after a while if they want to go in and play, but there are too many people messing about in the RR to have a decent game.

    I suggest adding a 3d snes inside the rr, with a selection of games, for all players.

    When you hit a button (preferably red), a virtual snes controller comes out of your monitor and says your name and hello.

    If you win 3 games, you can then access hover-boards, which are in a vent in the ready room. With these, you can use Rocket Launchers.

    I was about to say that. Most of the people would stay in the RR to play the game.

    I would make an airhockey game in the rr, BUT, it would be in a secret room. Like you go somewere in the rr, press something and a door or something opens for a couple of seconds.

    Instead of readyroom minigames, I propose having the floor of your entire ready room open up every one to two minutes and dump everyone idling there into a random team pit. That'll teach people to take up server space and not play!

    Well, they're just as useless in-game as they are in the RR. I propose a similar concept, but instead of a Random Team pit, there is a Celine Dion pit, with her hits wailing on loop. Oh, and 256x256 .bmps of her in chic poses.

    And Bob, what exactly is that juice on your signature? Just what kind of janitor <i>are</i> you?

    This is quite clearly the answer to ready room idlers. They'll leave the game faster than a skulk eats bacon.

    Ready room games=bad idea. If you'll make a whole disco with a bar as the readyroom (like done in cydonia) or something stupid like that people will stay in the ready room instead of playing. A ready room should be a room including your architecture, joining portals and perhaps a cool effect (like inaccessible details).

    but why not creating a map out of this? just little idea:

    each team has to "push" a special item in a certain area, so additional resnodes will appear. each resnode is accesable from 2 sides. pushing the enemy item out of the area will close the way to the node for the enemies. think about it, change this idea or take it further.

    if you must put mini games in, a way that you could do so without causing people to not join is to put a timelimit that starts when the game starts so that people can only play, say, 30 sec after the game starts. There will always be a few people who will want to join the game, so the game will start quickly and then people will have to join! <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

    Or we could have a big red button in the center of the map that makes the floor slide open in the RR and makes everyone join random team.     You can have jumping puzzles, everyone loves jumping puzzles...

    Infact, have some jumping puzzles to get to the team you want (you fall, you go to randome team), and have the Mario Brothers theme play in the background.
