I'm with all those people who wonder what's all this with guns.
Cars, too.
How can people find them sexy? Yes, they might show delicateness and fine craftsmanship, but they're not sexy.
Do you get turned on by them? Yes? You're pathetic.
No? Good

I like to look at guns because they're such a seamless blend of beauty and functionality. imo. I mean there are pretty ugly guns that nobody wants to look at, and those are functional, without aesthetics. Models that combine those two are so incredible to me for some reason. As they say, "we try to make it beautiful, because it's the last thing some people see."

well thats a bit harsh, I don't like violence or killing; its just like when I see a gun its such potential power wrapped up in a smooth curve or a really sweet looking scope.

yeah.

that said, I don't like pistols very much; they all look the same. Subs or rifles can differ drastically (fn2000 vs mp5, or m16 vs steyr aug), but pistols are all the same shape generally...

if you find a similar site with high-res shots of beautiful rifles, I shall love you. but for now, its no pistols for me.

You know, someone, somewhere had to design the pistol/rifle. The fact that they're mostly made out of pressed metal pieces doesn't mean you don't have to assemble them, or customize them - just like swords. If you find a sword exciting, you should find a gun exciting.

It's also why rifles with wooden stocks are better than newer ones...they have their own personality from the natural aspect.

On that mark: no, guns aren't sexy, they're beautiful. In the same way buildings or anything non-organic, non-natural can be beautiful. Maybe not even beatiful if you don't feel that way, just awe-inspiring. Like when you first see the Empire State Building, and you're at the front doors and you get to look up and it seems to stretch forever.

As for the USP .45: as long as you're not taking it from Counter-Strike, then it's okay. Don't base any of your opinions on guns on video-games (unless they're made up guns. Just like everyone's favorite sniper rifle was the PSG-1 after Metal Gear Solid came out..."it's in the game, it was cool there, it must be cool in real life!"

No way! It's the right caliber to punch through pretty much any body armor, it has a threaded barrel, and of course there's the usual HK quality.

My favorite assault rifle is the AK-103 (basically a further modernized version of the AK-47), my favorite machine gun is the MG-3, my favorite sniping rifle is the MSG90A1, my favorite submachine gun is the MP5A4, and my favorite "heavy" gun is the NTW-20.

As I said before a gun is not sexy, women with guns is a completely different thing.

Mainly because you bring a secondary factor to it.

Just a general comment 2-3 people classed guns as processed metal/metal i would like to say not all guns are metal the glock is made out of porclin meaning it cant be detected by metel detectors, also if you are a fine craftsman you can make a small 1 shot/2 shot gun out of wood, the heat generated tends to burn the wood so you only get a few shots out of it.

Guns are like cars. People like them for their "sexiness" Which basicly means they love em, love the design etc.

My favourite pistol is the glock 20. Always loved that gun

I'll always lean toward a /proper/ sword or knife than a gun. If nothing more than for the fact that proper swords are very personal. Someone made it with their hands (ie: ground from cut or die-forged swords are not proper swords), and it's unique. It's an extension of the soul, and many are truly beautiful, imposing, or breathtaking on their own... no need to chrome plate them, or put them on a bikini model.

Oh, and never forget just how frightening it truly is to have to fight a practiced swordsman. Sure, you could probably shoot them from range. Which is why a practiced swordsman will not even allow you to see that he is armed until it's too late.

Compare the beauty of a nickel-plated comealong with a hole on the end to three feet (or more) of razor-sharp steel. There is no contest.

Swedish women != ugly. At least, they must keep them in cages or something. You never see any, they're rarer than bigfoot methinks.

starchy, hitman uses hardballers by AMT. that pistol is manufactured by SnW

mr. 47's hardballers are AMT's "long slide" variety, by the way.. with 178mm barrels. they're an alternate model.

i've really gotta step in here - venmoch, you are wrong. i will show you now why your statement is not a fact but an opinion only.

the webster definition of "sexy".

___

Main Entry: sexy
Pronunciation: 'sek-sE
Function: adjective
Inflected Form(s): sex·i·er; -est
1 : sexually suggestive or stimulating : EROTIC
2 : generally attractive or interesting : APPEALING <a sexy stock>
___

now, are you saying it is chemically impossible for a person to be "generally attracted" to or "interested" in firearms?

i will go ahead and say that it can go beyond interest. human interests range from hobby to fetish. it doesn't matter whether the subject is alive or not. bestiality is a form of fetish - animal sex. who says animals are sexy? the animal lovers do.

and this lot of us says guns are sexy.

who are you to say that we aren't stimulated by the sight of them?

"sexy" is not your word. it is not subject to your perception. perhaps you should have said "guns are not attractive as a medium or partner for procreation." they can be as sexy as people see them.

I own an H&K USP 9mm and a Benelli M3, and I can say for sure that they are sexy, I am attracted to my firearms, and they totally fit the definition of sexy mentioned above. My mood changes when I'm holding them, and I'm assuming my brain chemistry does too.

My friend Tom was a police officer in NY, I took him to the range a few months back and brought my M3 (its 5 + 1 with a pistol grip stock and ghost ring sights, CA wont let me put a mag tube extension on it) now top was used to over and unders and he was on the force for like 3 years back in NY when he got behind the M3 and let off a few rounds he said he really loved the feel and control of it. Then I turned the selection ring and locked the slide in place, reloaded the beast and told him to take a double tap at the next clay that flew out, he laughed, but I insisted. He pulled the trigger twice and I swear he was speechless for what seemed like a good 5 minutes, the range we were on has a rule about rapid fire so I told him to take two double taps with it and he did. In fact you can let off 6 rounds with that shotgun on less than 2 seconds. Its an amazing piece of work, I cant decide if I want to get the M4 or not, its another $1200 and I don’t know if owning 2 "assault" shotguns would be overkill, so I'm still looking into other weapons.
