<div class="IPBDescription">Coming soon..</div> Hello!
I've worked a bit more on Akaba, and now the hive and the outside area are (almost) done.
Since i changed the layout, i have to redo the Marine-Start..
Here is some pics:
(I "improved" that one with photoshop)
<img src='http://membres.lycos.fr/kawaak/akaba/Akaba1.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
JP/skulk/lerks heaven (the biggest r-speeds "peek" is at 750/850, otherwise it's generally around 350/500)
<img src='http://membres.lycos.fr/kawaak/akaba/Akaba01.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
(The cavern and the beginning of the infestation, the hive is deeper in the cavern, and it's not jetpacks's friendly)
<img src='http://membres.lycos.fr/kawaak/akaba/akaba02.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://membres.lycos.fr/kawaak/akaba/akaba03.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
<img src='http://membres.lycos.fr/kawaak/akaba/akaba04.JPG' border='0' alt='user posted image' />
That's all, comments are welcome <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Comments
The skulks climbing on the skybox would be fixed the same way hera's was, so I think so far this outside area is looking fantastic. Its the least of your worries ATM IMHO. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
EDIT:: And inside the cavren, make sure you add some water puddles to give the infestation that damp feel..
superb work
i might have spelld somthin wrong...
I like it very much .. but isn't it to big ?? guys with JP+hmg / mg can easily kill skulks and there's so much fly-space ....
GJ & GL !
Its not fixed... Just try to walk on the sky as skulky its still possible <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->
However the idea like they did in Aliens vs Predator (2) to put electric fences near the sky brush, this would solve the skulk problem most likely, and lerks... Well lets just asume they cant survive a long distance from the hive mind.
[edit]akaba makes me think of Akihabara (anime/games store heaven Tokyo <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo-->)[/edit]
[EDIT]Fixed me being an idiot and spelling some words wrong to the point where they were other words
Agreed. It looks like something from the source engine. Absolutely Stunning.

*cries*
god I want to play this map
Other then that great work, also mayb a precentage of progress and backstorie... I love backstories <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif' /><!--endemo-->

I was going to say that the caves would be to marine friendly, but since the hive area will probaly be more crampt (you said non JP friendly) it should even out; how about a shot of the marine spawn too?
My tip: Make a glass dome outside to prevent sky-climbing skulks and incompatibility with Natural Selections background story.

I think that too..I will do nothing about the sky blocking players as it dont affect the gameplay, only the "realism" (it's just a game..who cares about realism? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
And if i add barbed wire or forcefield barrier it will certainly add more to the r-speeds so i will let as it is.
And for thoses who are wondering about the name Akaba, it's from the movie "Lawrence d'Arabie". This is the name of a town near the Suez Canal.
yes, maybe i should add 1 more way under that outside area connecting the hive and the Marine-start (actually players have to pass in the outside to go to the other side of the map).
Edit:Here is the Layout

nice to finally see some original setting, great work !
I've been trying to do some mapping of myself (i can do that...)
And this, this is exactly what i had in mind to make myself... so let's not do that shall we.
Very good map! I hope we can play it anytime soon <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->
It certainly looks nice, and it's not an endless maze of flat rooms and hallways, so I'm initially impressed. Only thing left for me is to actually play the final version see if it's fun as it looks.
