Here's a rough Babel Fish translation of a bit that suggests a disgruntled ex-employee (are they ever gruntled?) tipped the police that pirated software was in use: "According to first estimations of the police Crytek used illegally software for play production and caused thus a damage within the six-digit range. Evidence was placed already surely. The law guardians had become attentive by the reference of a former Crytek coworker."<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hah, nubs.

A statement from developer or publisher is still pending.
Seems they found something.

DO NOT get me started on the topic of Nazi-ism. I strongly doubt that the emplayees of Crytek are Neo-Nazis.
And people wonder why so many warez or don't buy games at all.
I would die of laughter.
/me hits self with brick. Why can't I get excited over Half-Life 2, dammit?!
So, they won't finish Far Cry? I got the demo - the graphics and engine (at least outdoors) were great, but the voice acting was some of the worst I've ever heard, the story seems generic, and the "brilliant" AI was stupid compared to the grunts' in HL and the Covies' in Legendary Halo. No innovation, so I really won't care if that game goes under.
Personally I really liked the demo of FarCry and I would actually buy it if it came out. I hope it WILL come out <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html//emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif' /><!--endemo-->

The choice is obvious.
First they start WW2 and now they steal our software! <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
No, the atrocity that is the Treaty of Versaills (sp?) started WWII.
I'm gonna rofl up a lung if it is.

Agreed. We can do <i>that</i> in the Discussion forums.

very funny, would you like if i acuse you to be a redskin killer? Your comment is just stupid and has nothing todo with this thread.
Any one knows what for software they found? i supose they were using some oracle DB servers, visual net or so and other expensive software (3dsmax etc), that can be very expensive very fast

They were accused by an angry, former trainee. They were raided, however, the accusations were wrong, so noone was arrested nor was hardware taken away for further studies. CryTek states that this case is 100% settled now, and that the work on FarCry will be completed in time.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><div class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
theese guys made a tech demo few years ago, to demonstrate the pixel shader effects, then they decided to make a whole game by using the same engine.
and i think it is very dumb for a company to use warez ....
but we know how angry some ex employees can be... so it could be some act of revenge, it is not the first time we hear about such things.
even if they found nothing, crytec is ruined. they will need long time to explain everything and kill all rumors...
It ran perfectly well on my not-really-cutting-edge machine (1.1GHz Athlon, 512MB PC133 memory, GeForce 4Ti, Win98). But then, Halo runs nicely too.
Is my PC filled with magical sparkling performace-o-matic dust?
