That's not an issue with the fact that the hitbox was mostly fixed, and I hope the vents are easier to enter <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

The atmosphere in Bast always reminded me of the movie <a href='http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0078748/' target='_blank'>Alien</a>.
I liked Bast better in v1.0 without the weldable vent in rine start, which can be opened by pressing the use key anyway, instead it had the weld point in the "Main Aft Junction". It also didn't have the two doors in the vent under the marine start elevator. I can't remember if anything else was changed in the 2.0 version.

About it being laggy, I've never experienced that, maybe it's the server or your computer that is too slow?

Bast, may you rest in peace, hope to see you again someday <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

It's been this way since the first version of 3.0, but keep this in mind when attacking.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This sounds good, but can someone please tell me the armour absorption % in 2.01? IIRC it's 1A=2H, which basically means that this change makes hive 1 aliens weaker and the rarely-seen hive 3 aliens stronger.

However, I suppose it's this change that lets the fade be re-balanced at 50 res; (early fade is weaker) although I'm still doubtful as to their mid-late game effectiveness, at least they're cheaper.

I like the sound of contact hand grenades, great for clearing vents, WOL, and for hurling at onos.

The changes to combat to make lerks + onos more expensive upgrades is a great idea.

Ok, I can understand removing _special and I support it completely. I can live without wait and exec. But banning ; ?? omg
I guess many servers will be scared to enable that. I know I wouldn't.
I say just remove _special by default and leave it there.

Do bear in mind that it's perfectly possible to play NS without <b>any</b> custom scripts at all.

Yes, of course. And most of the time I don't use scripts myself either. It's just principle. My mind shrieks when I read things like this.

No more scrips! That is on less thing I have to babysit players for. Maybe I will be able to play once in a while instead of watching in spec for pistol scrips and stuff.

As for the maps, it is good to see nancy is back. It was the first map I ever played (in any online multiplayer game). As for bast, I am split on. It was a nice looking map, but gameplay is not that great over all. And my aging computer does not like it

A bad that Bast has to go. But woooot for the nancy team! GJ.

Bast was one of the most atmospheric maps, but not one of the best playing, IMO. I hope the remake can fix all the little nuances that ruined the gameplay experience.

Great to see Nancy back in, though.

Well I was able to play okay with just a fast switch script, and hud_fastswitch 1 will sort that... I can see why these were removed, well given the option to, it will level the playing field considerably, even if it pisses of a third of the playing population...

I hope my local server enforces this, but it wont really bother me, and if I ever cba to join a clan I really hope leagues enforce this <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Nifty, good to hear that Combat hasn't completely eclipsed classic NS.

Congrats to the ns_nancy remake team, and good luck to ns_bast's squad. Though ns_bast does have some <i>major</i> RT placement issues, it has some of the coolest hives and excellent atmosphere.

So I am getting penalized because of a bunch of scripting fools.

This is the single solitary "script" that is in my config-

bind "MWHEELDOWN" "invnext; +attack; wait; -attack"
bind "MWHEELUP" "invprev; +attack; wait; -attack"

And I use this to be able to roll my mouse to switch weapons without having to roll, then press fire, then press fire again to actually fire.

That is stupid. GG NS. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
    hud_fastswitch 1

Put that in your config, gg <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
That IS in my config. It helps arrow players such as myself absolutely none at all.

My 1-5 keys are my alien evolution keys, respective to their tiers.

Wonderful! The nubs will get their way and I can keep my harmless use/flashlight script to continue pretending I'm at a rave.
Ha HA! The movement to preserve scripts in CAL begins now!!1!

    2of12[BORG]:

    hud_fastswitch 1
    alias nowep ""
alias wepone "slot1; bind mwheelup weptwo; bind mwheeldown nowep;"
alias weptwo "slot2; bind mwheelup wepthree; bind mwheeldown wepone;"
alias wepthree "slot3; bind mwheelup nowep; bind mwheeldown weptwo;"
    bind mwheelup "weptwo;"
    bind mwheeldown "nowep;"

Put that in your config. It will work just the same as you have.

I think getting rid of ";" is going to far, "exec" too...

People will always want to customize as rthey have different hardware, so now I cant use a fastswitch script but someone with 10 buttons on thier mouse can bind each weapon slot easily... So while I am fumbling to find the 1-4 keys on the otherside of m keyboard he has pulled out his knife and stabbed me to death...

I was first hoping this cvar would be enforced almost everywhere, now I hoping it isnt...

atleast its off by default, and i cant imagine many (if any) servers using this. the servers without admins wont care anyway, and the servers with admins will let the admins take care of scripters.

So removing exec and ; disables anything past a bind.

    At least this holds true.

I don't know if I'm supposed to tell you and break your hearts, but this patch screwed a lot of things up.

First, nancy isn't in the server list yet, so admins can only change it by command. There is a lot of lag in the games.

As for combat, there is a bug that allows marines to get infinite upgrades after their first one. And of course people abuse that.

So, making your mousewheel switch weapons is a problem? That is the only specific example that has been brought up, and it is an important part of the game, especially for fades who quickly have to change weapons. I realize lastinv can replace the function, but it shouldn't need to.

just get a mouse with a mouse wheel rolling up pressing fire and firing again isnt that friggin hard, i have no scripts and as for fade all i do is blinnk quick switch to slash and then quick switch to blink againn...not that hard

Meh, I use lastinv all the time. Sure, I use the mousewheel sometimes too, but that's when I panic like when I'm a gorge with 3 hp and a marine is chasing me with a knife and I'm out of energy. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Anyway; I think banning ";" is a bit overkill. Also, I'd like to know if it recognizes it inside of quotes, like...

    bind b "say ';'"
Not that anyone would actually bind that, but still <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have no idea what this is supposed to mean? Are you implying that making the onos 75 res will mean that noone will ever fade, and that electricity will be woefully underused as regen onos will walk straight over them?
