Fast Firing Pistols?

I don't want this to degenerate into a flame fest <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
My simple question is, is there a script or setting that allows the pistol to unload faster than the default speed?
I have a good connection and sometimes I literally turn a corner as a skulk and die immediatley to a marine with a pistol. I'm not saying these players have no skill - because they obviously have to aim and hit a small moving target but... whenever I unload a pistol the shots come out as fast as I can click my mouse - I'm not sure of the damage value for the pistol rounds but would have thought it would take 4 shots atleast to kill.
Don't take this as a whine - just a straight forward answer would be nice!

Pistol bullets do 20 damage.
Skulks should take about 7-8 bullets to die, with no upgrades to pistol or skulk.
Lvl 3 pistol will kill an unupgraded skulk in less.
there used to be a script to fire all 10 bullets in an instant, but since flayra disabled to wait command and capped the rof, they take just over 1 second the empty the clip
The wait command isn't disabled! In the latest beta (3.0e) just the _special scripts are disabled. That were scripts that unload your pistol in a very short time (~1 second) while you just have to hold one button.
I am not sure if it is possible to write a pistol scripts without _special since i never tried to write one. But i don't think it's a very big advantage. Aiming is still more important than the rate of fire imo.

ok, so I was wrong about the wait. I thought flayra had disabled it.
I dont think you would need the _special to write a pistol script, at least, the one i saw didn't use it.
I think

I wasn't aware that binding it to your mwheel was an exploit (I don't, but would if I could get it to fit).
Wow.
Fast tapping has killed it, not to mention made my finger joints ache. Gonna have to search out for a new mouse now, bleh.
I'm not entirely sure why the mousewheel is considered an exploit, considering you can do it from the controls selection menu thing... When I was testing that at one point, it completely fked my aim, so I just turned it off again. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Best way to take down oni and fades (with low level weapons): have like 4 guys with you, all have your pistols ready, when it comes out, quickly unload, and then switch to lmg and fire away. The pistol can do similar damage to half a clip or so of LMG bullets, ina lot less time.
We actually killed 2 onos and 1 fade this way, lol.... (we had lvl3 weapons for the oni i believe.)
It was so sweet, the aliens were running scared.
And can you imagine how mad you would get if every time you saw a marine you died to pistol shots?
Heh, It was funny.
We actually started a clan from that day.
as +attack consists of one shot being fired in this case then in your config.cfg this should work..
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->bind "mouse1" "+attack;+attack"<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
this should cause your pistol to fire 2 shots at every click, so in theory you can do attack ten times over in that bind and it will shoot 10 bullets to every one of your clicks (causing your mouse to still be working <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->).
You might have to have a wait in between each of your +attack for it to work.
I havent tested this yet due to it being late at night but it should work like a champ.

same thing happened to me, havent had a decent optical mouse since, <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
this is because your not scripting/cheating in any way and you certainly are not giving yourself an unfair advantage (as a previous post mentioned, ur aim can be messed up).
Scripting is certainly an exploit though ... because your writing CODE to do the actions for you.
So, if your scripting to fire fast: SHAME ON YOU!
If you just use your mousewheel to fire, you're fine ... <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::asrifle::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/asrifle.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='asrifle.gif'><!--endemo-->

I don't know about your mouse, but when i scroll fast on my mousewheel, the pointer stays in exactly the same spot

Ah, but can you move your wrist to aim whilst moving ur index finger up and down on the wheel? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Try it now.
THE MOUSE EXPLOIT TEST
==================
1) Position mouse in upper right corner of internet browser.
2) If you are using IE, this is as good time to hit the cross while you are here. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
3) Move the mouse from that corner to the bottom left corner.
So far so good.
Repeat steps 1&3 but this time scroll really fast with your mouse wheel.
Did your cursor move as smoothly as it did in the first experiment? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

mwheelup and mwheeldown are not an exploit. scripting isnt exploiting either but I still think scripting is **** and scripters need to die in their sleep.
Having a button make you blink constantly then auto-switch to swipe is evil.
Having a button bound to "say '=Resource Tower here commander'" is not.
Mwheel is not scripting, so is not exploiting.
However, in Flayra's opinion, (writting in tablets of stone, <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->) all coding envolving editting config.cfg etc. is considered exploiting; this, I pressume, includes team say messages.
Just depends on how you use it.
As for pistol scripting, i reckon it would be idiotic. The pistol is used for precision range weakening before swiping them down with the lmg. Why give yourself a rediculous level of accuracy? Most people miss the first shot.
As for mwheelup, you try to turn the mouse wheel and move the mouse AND aim at the same time. It is a fewlish idea.
