"buy an iPod so your battery dies just after the warrenty expires so you have to pay $240 for a new battery oy just buy another iPod deal"
Hehas his ipod hoocked up with his car stereo "im gonna buy his car soon and stick my nomad in there. The same way.
I have this, holds 20 gigs and they now come with replaceable lithium ion batteries like my old minidisc players. http://www.nomadworld.com/products/jukebox_zen/
No they do not. You may as well say that Windows and Apple are bitter rivals at this mp3 moment.
Additional info for those too lazy to click above link. Appx. Size of a cellphone. 1/2 weight of regular iPod 8 GB's $249 My Opinion: WAY too expensive for only 8 GB's.

Check those tech specs again... the mini is only a 4GB device. This one gets my 'The Finger' award for the most useless piece of junk I've seen today. And calling it the 'smallest'... it's less than half an inch smaller in either direction. Which looks to have entirely come out of moving the buttons under the wheel.
Won't be buying one. I'd much rather stick with a Nomad, if I really needed to buy a portable MP3 player. FAR cheaper, and (cough) higher quality construction, given the horror stories I've heard from iPod users.
When will they be getting black regular iPods? I'm starting to get annoyed at my 20 gig archos studio (paint falling apart, plastic finish) and it's amazing weight.
You know, I'd want something like this (large image) but really black, not only black because of lack of light
Else, iPods (regular ones) can have their batteries replaced. Buy yours here and nomad also has its 4 gig mini hd player (here)
Meh - waste of money at this point in time. I'm not gonna upgrade from my ol' CD player until this gosh dern technology doesn't stop advancing so quickly. And the little linky above is another thing holding me back from 'the glory of iPod.'
Meh. The new iPod looks pretty neat. However, the new colors are all pastel and they look really feminine. New features of playing solitare and having a scheduler? On an iPod? Seems pratical to me. Could this be bringing in the ne generation of MP3 players?
//edit: Dunsby asked if the iPod played WMA files. Unfortunately, it does not. What we need is a generic MP3 player made by some small technology firm. And trust me, Apple and Microsoft will NEVER, in a million+ years, team up.
the pastel colours could proberly give it some 'buy for girlfriend' factor, looking at a few other forums it seems plenty of people are considering that... damn the pink is gonna sell like hotcakes once the price drops after 6 or so months
Every single compact player out there has an integrated battery which eventually runs out. It's a bit bigger if it's replacable li-ion, and lots bigger if it's running on AA sized batts (archos)
Battery changing is expensive if you go by a big branded company, but you get MUCH cheaper prices otherwise. It's like comparing Alienware to building your own comp.
So it's even smaller? Big Whoop, honestly. I never saw what the big deal about the iPods size was, it had a lot of useless junk that it used to make up for the ridicously high price. You're better off with a Jukebox Zen.
huzzah for my iRiver IGP-100 holds 1.5 GB of RAM (all I need) built in radio plays MP3s and WMA High quality sound (need to tweak the equalizers a lil) small (about the size of your palm)

Why exactly could they make the iPod even smaller, but they couldn't make the battery easier to switch out? I've seen cell phones the size of an iPod that had batteries you could swap out with one hand.
Why the hell should I cut Apple a break on this? Because it looks cool? Well ****, the Segway looks cool too, but I'm smarter then that.
No its not like Alienware, because even though an Alienware costs ungodly sums of money, they don't require you to shell out 1/6th the cost of the thing every 2 years (which works out to around $500 for a $3000 system).

I think Ill stick to my mini disk for another year or two, that should last effectivly.
Still, looks nice but still pricy.

i think $150-$200 is much more reasonable considering the price diffrence between it and its larger brothers.
if they reprice it due to the reception it got, i may get one.. silver or blueeee..
