My thoughts
NS is, in terms of combat, is your basic FPS seen when it comes to the Marines. Point, shoot, and hopefully, don't get bit to shreads by a skulk. Not much to say about Marines. The real gest of Marine combat comes down to sticking with your team, more power in numbers, if you don't stick with your team in the middle of a large game, versus a powerful Alien team, nothing will get accomplished, absoultly nothing. You will have Onos eating you left and right, and the occassional Fade blinking in, shreading your flesh, and blinking out, then rince, and repeat. If you and your team work together to combat the threat, once the fade blinks in, and if you have played your cards right, unload some hmg rounds into him, and splat, dead fade. Same goes for any other creature your fighting, just stick together. Marines have the advantage when it comes to long range combat by far.
Aliens on the other hand are supreme in the melee aspect of the game. No real tactics used when fighting as one, unless your scriming or doing something, well, tactical, just use stealth and rip them to pieces (skulks) or use the awesome agility of Fades to bring swift death to the Marines. However, NS is a totally teamwork based gameplay experience, if there isn't a gorge building stuctures and hives and the team working together to take key points in the map, then your toast.
Well, thats my 2 cents on the whole thing, I could really get in-depth, but I'm tired. I will talk about building and being a commander some other time.

I played this game shortly after the 2.0 release. I loved the game. I wished I could learn to play it better. I guess my biggest beef was that because I was new I got flamed for not knowing how to do certain things. I stopped playing until just very recently. I was considereing dropping it again cause AGAIN I got flamed for not quite knowing how to play it right. Lots of stuff to learn in this game. I am good at tactics BUT I dont know how to work that command chair so I dont.

I am currently a CS player and admin on 2 CS servers which I and my fellow clanmates (I am in a CS clan) maintain a clean and friendly playing atmosphere. I am hoping to expand that philosophy to other games I enjoy playing. I also want to be able to pass along what I learn from other community minded NS players on to others. Played a little of 1.4, and been playing 2.0 though i definately want to be better. I see some players not die for a whole game, killing maybe 20 guys in the process.

i hope that res rate for aliens is a bit slower no that beta 2 has been released. res who**s can easily win the game with the fade since theyre so beefed up.

I have started a clan with a friend but cant get hold af a good start...
we have some members and altough they are new to the game they love it...
