<div class="IPBDescription">quote from Flayra</div> This is a response (supposedly from Flayra) on a news threat at www.natural-selection.de

I love reading positive feedback from you guys, and it's very encouraging to hear that some of you are interested in what we're up to, and might be interested in a) buying our games b) investing in us.
We're definitely going to keep supporting NS, but we're also going to be moving onto bigger and better NS-like projects.
<b><span style='font-size:14pt;line-height:100%'>We are trying to get NS into retail, and are also looking at engines and thinking about NS2</span></b>.
If anyone is seriously interested in investing in UWE, please don't hesitate to drop me an e-mail at flayra (at) overmind.org. By seriously I mean that you're 18 or older, and have 10K or more cash that you would seriously consider giving for some stake in the company. It's not easy to get started, and we're looking at traditional publishing arrangements, as well as private investors.
I think it's safe to say that you ain't seen nothin' yet. If you like NS I think you'll lllooove what comes next (though you're going to have to wait for it).<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

But I could (and probably am) wrong.
Why? If...

If they are in fact looking for engines for the NS, it would mean that it won't be a "mod" for HL, thus why would Valve have anything to do with it. Unless of course the "engine" is Valve's own engine (HL2 engine?). Since Valve doesn't own the "Natural Selection" or am i wrong.
EDIT:I got the NS and NS2 mixed up, so yes, Valve has to buy and sell if they plan to get it to retail <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

It would be silly for him to NOT try and sell NS software eventually. He really can't lose, since the hard part will already be over (development). A cd, some paper, and some cardboard will be pretty much all that's left to handle. Word of mouth has already got his advertising done, + having it on the main list of games in STEAM won't hurt either.
Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhm..... ( add U's til tired )
No ?
He and some friends decided to make a game
That is NOT having a company...
Please...
Translated into english for cold-nite : " Ichtys, what's your nickname in-game ?"

And on topic:
Flayra already stated in an Interview in (ermm) September 02 (guessed date, it was a few month prior to release) that he would like NS to go retail if a publisher would contact him, so this is quite old news. In Addition I think that the news poster of NS.de kinda wrote the news in german in a way it could be misunderstood.(e.g. "OMG NS IS RETAIL !!!!!111!1one")
Can anyone tell me what he said? After paladin's comment I'm kinda curious. If it's personal, then nevermind.
remember mtw or gampoint.AMD they are 1337
alien triliogy AvP2?
or other films or games? <!--emo&::gorge::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/pudgy.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='pudgy.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> <!--emo&::skulk::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/skulk.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='skulk.gif'><!--endemo-->
Unless they move to another engine for NS1, which is possible anyway. Though that would require a load of work, whereas just going through all the legal stuff needed to have NS1 go retail on the HL engine would probably be the more straightforward route. But in the post, he did hint towards looking at new engines, don't remember if this was for NS1 or 2, probably 2, all things considered.
Oh and Bluephish... L337Speak? Isn't that German? L337Speak is what happened when a bunch of lazy Americans like myself d3c1d3d 2 5k1p L3773R'5 4nd u53 #'5 1N5734D. <== Thats probably carrying it too far because I replaced T's => 7's, S's => 5's etc. instead of just A and E.
So how about that translation? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I dearly hope not. Not only would that mean more delays, but it would mean I would have to buy the game to continue playing. Which would be hard right now, as I am low on cash. But I really doubt he would do that. I mean, he might as well just wait to create NS2 and make that retail, instead of trying to turn NS1 into a retail product. But that is just my two cents.
No.

It was in reply to the encouragement the NS community was giving him in when his company was first learned about.
3.0 isn't being held back, it is just nowhere near ready for release. Lots of testing to go yet.
I cream myself even thinking of NS2.
