i dont know why your making all these things "exclusive"... mods are meant to be public art, and therefor so should models be... privatising it just doesnt seem fair, i mean, you dont get paid to "exclusivly" own the rights do you?

    the only thing they want is that people download the model from their site, not from others. delarosa makes everything he works on t2k exclusive too, if he can. nsa will give it to the public (us), they just dont want it on t2k or ns-fr or any other site

    delarosa exclusively does his own models for t2k because he made them. NSA are hosting other peoples models exclsively without even making them, to get more people to visit. im not having a go at them, im just stating a point.

    Actually, only reason you think everything we do is exclusive because we havent put that many models Out. And i hardly think Drake's Pistol (t2k exclusive) delarosa's.

    THe models that are exclusive, are because the modler etc.. is on the NSA Staff. or B they want it HoSTed Exclusivley.

    Does it ReallY mAtteR siNce tHE model isnt even out?
    Whats wrong with downloading from one source, or you rahter search all over the place, and revive dead threads. Its logical, not greedy or hurting anyone. ANd most of the time People ask me to host the models exclusivly, i dont ask them. Btw Andersen is a NSA Modeler.

    well hosting exclusive stuff, imo, dont flame me for this is kinda wrong, there should multiple sources to download the same file, and unless that work is copyrighted, the word exclusive painted all over the preview image is as worth as much as the nine letters that spell it, its not stopping any1 from hosting it.

    Its a sad attempt to get hits and put yourself above the others cause they have to go to u to get it, which can be, depending a pain in the ****.

    Im not pointing fingers or naming names, this is just a generalization. As for my closing on exclusive, if an author wants his work to be "exclusive" go release it on DeadLok, not here to a public community, because once its released here, its free game.

    It's illogical cuz if your site goes down, NOBODY can have the model anymore.

    Thus the reason for MIRRORS.

    Competing with T2K is easy; you just need to get the ball rolling on that models page. A handful of custom work here and there isn't going to help much.

    Besides, you've also got the edge over Delarosa with your map reviews and the NSA server. You just need to bring out your site's potential with some needed content (and a fatter layout), not "exclusives".

    This is no competition! If you want something like that, just try to have the better page or more/better/faster downloads and that's it...

    For this "xyz exclusive-stuff":

    It IS okay.. As long as it is released exclusively. What I mean: I gets release JUST on one page. And afterwards it CAN be mirrored. (just for the case BlackPanther already pointed out).

    But imo exclusive stuff goes (like I already mentioned above) at the expense of the NS community...

    Its not like your making money off the sites or anything, last time i checked bandwidth cost money.

    Look at fileplanet everytime they get an exclusive, EVERYTHING on the site has at least a 2 hour que even with extra servers avialable and even then the speeds ground to a halt.

    There are many factors that prevent this, a strong factor is the Daza/Dill problem. Neither team can give up the respective member because they are vital members, although we could lock them in an IRC channel and make them work it out...

    on that subject (sorry for going off topic)

    building a sites popularity has nothing really to do with <u>Exclusive material</u>

    but overall content
    if u host a wide selection or have a large amout of content = more hits per day

    plus hosting Hard to find models is also a bonus...

    i dont really see any reason for competition well thats my ipinion

    If I don't hear from Andersen (I've been PMing and emailing him over the last month with no reply), I'll release it on my own when I'm done. If he wishes it "exclusive", I'll bow to his wishes- but this "exclusive" routine for this kind of material is pointless and juvenile...

    first... illogical because T2K won't go down, i won't let it... simple as that

    second, "excsclusive" rights are reserved by the authors... T2K has a policy that If and When the site id deemed "Dead and never to return", all exclusive rights T2K has will be released, but the next host should contact the AUTHOR of that file, to ask if they wish their work to remain exclusive.

    third, the theft of a file that is "exclusive" is punishable by law, and i am not afraid to step into a court of law defending my exsclusives... this is of course, aimed at big companies, but i WILL pursue individuals that violate the hosting agreement of the packs T2K calls Exsclusive.


    Fourth and Final comment i will make on this subject...

    T2K doesn't ASK for exsclusives any more... well, ok, we do, but we won't go into WIP threads and offer the service of hosting the model, if and only if it is exsclusive... if the project it completed, T2K will host if i get around to it... If you want it to be Exclusive, i'll work without sleep to get it up ASAP... but if not, it goes into the pile just like everything else i recive.

    You may Get a PM from me about the rights to host a model, this just means that i think it will be a major "feature" that T2K would feel privilaged enough to host... having exsclusives is a way for the people that worked on the model to say "you've done aot for me, and yes... i did this for everyone, but in my own special way... i'm giving this to you to say thanks"


    and uhh, on a side note... could we please make a seperate thread to discuss this exclusive business?

    Well heres the thing. Unlike delarosa loves to assume about me, i dont go in public and ask about exclusives or anything. Andersen wanted to join the team long before the warspike. And yes i will get him to post here! I wanted to join up with t2k i talked to del about it, but i guess its dead with all the lil cheapshots he threw, me and its only my right to throw them back. I want to be friends, but im not gonna waste my time.

    ok, and FROM MY records...
    i threw one cheapshot... saying that T2K doesn't need to be fancy like NSAL is... if there are more, please PM them to me...

    second, i personally don't want to join NSAL, because i don't find 100% flash webpages a valid form of website design... DESIGN, is the ONLY reason i tend to <b>dislike</b> the NSAL <b>WEBSITE</b>... not for any other reasons.

    third, i DO assume... but only because you assume right back... despite all my efforts of trying to make my intentions public...

    Fourth, to set the record straight... T2K was the FIRST to have exsclusive models... and back then, i did it because the guys over at nsrc.tk had an awsome website, and it intimidated me, and well, all the other websites look and function like T2K does... their DESIGN stood out... but their team members devotion did not...

    again, another website apears... and is more catchy to the eye, and that intimidates me... but since i have dealth with the NSAL team members, and have seen their devotion... i again, have been re-assured that NSAL will be around for a long time, and is not something i can FIGHT against... becasue there will be no abdolute win... but only a recognition of power... and to NASL guys... i recognize you as an influnce, see that you have a nice website, despite the part of the design that is un-tasteful to <b>me</b>...
