The grenades, in general, aren't for use against aliens, but rather against WoLs. They'll also help a little with vent flushing. But really, don't expect to get many if any alien kills with it.
Im Glad to hear they finally are in. I havent had the opportunity to try them myself as I dont have the beta, But It appears you all like them /me is pleased

4.5 is really the minimum amount of time you need to get a safe distance from a primed grenade, wether thats behind a rock, or just farther than 30 yards. The reason a 1 1/2 second fuze works so well in CS is because Even when your standing on TOP of a grenade it wont kill you. In real life, If youre anywhere within 25 yards of a grenade when it goes off, youre toast. personally, I would like to be able to cook the grenade in NS, Its an unwise tactic, and I think they should incorporate a random fuze with anywhere between 2 and 6 seconds. This way you CAN cook the grenade, But do so at your own risk. which is how it really is.

well, I would have thought the Large "USN" in my signature would have tipped you off that I serve in the U.S. Navy... But I guess not . Anyway, standard US fuzes, like the M228 and M217 all have 4.5 second delays.

do you have any idea how difficult it is to fix animation and origin bugs when all you have is HLMV and some people on IRC telling you "A little more to the left"..?

The Nades are great!!! They need to be a bit stronger and the way they work needs to be changed a bit.
The Nades would be much better if... You select the nade, click and hold to arm it, release to toss it. That way you can arm it, have 4 seconds to toss it or BOOOM, you get tossed instead.
They arm and toss as soon as you click, the sound gives them away and they arnt very power ATM.
Over all, they are AWESOME, just need some tweeking!

Sorry to hear that brig spose you'll have to clan up??
I havent messed with or have any idea how nades work but i wouldve thought timing where you drop and throw nades to kill kharra wouldnt have been that hard.
I know in other games if you throw a nade ahead of you and ur being chased you can time it to take out the guy following you. Same as throwing it into a corner or throwing it at the ceiling when running away from an aggressor. It seems no one is really using nades to their best potential??
just copy the DoD model: You can throw them down and pick them back up...that works like priming them. As for aliens picking them up, well, I don't know. Would be funny to see a lerk pick one up with its claws and drop it back on the marine.

Aliens have too much time to run away from them =\
/me is pleased
And the grenades ARE useful for handling OCs. Esspecially with a whole squad throwing the things.
Haven't yet seen the need for vent flushing, so can't report on that.
