The reason a 1 1/2 second fuze works so well in CS is because Even when your standing on TOP of a grenade it wont kill you. In real life, If youre anywhere within 25 yards of a grenade when it goes off, youre toast. personally, I would like to be able to cook the grenade in NS, Its an unwise tactic, and I think they should incorporate a random fuze with anywhere between 2 and 6 seconds. This way you CAN cook the grenade, But do so at your own risk. which is how it really is. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> thought nades were fused at 4-6 seconds? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

Day of defeat grenades are to unrealistic, sure, you can prime a grenade but the fuse isn't perfectly set at 5 seconds (especially in late WW2, german grenades had very varied fuse lengths and no soldier would want to hold it once the fuse was pulled, since they varied from 2 to 10 seconds).
Of course, NS is the future and I'm sure we could get our fuses far more accurate than that. I could see how they'd be really useful too...have all the marines throw them in that vent in comp core all at once..stupid lerk spam <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> .
I agree the DoD play of grenades is probably the best and easiest to bring over. Though there are things I don't like about thier set up. I do NOT like having to throw a grenade on the ground to prime it. 1. It wastes time looking for the damn thing trying to find it and pick it up, when you should be watching the bad guy. 2. Its audiable, you can hear a guy doing this and you can get ready to back off
I doubt these are insurmountable problems to overcome. Other then that I think DoD has grenades just about right.

More useful against Lerks/Skulks but not too effective?
Screw torches.
/me passes out Brig's grenades.
Poetic justice, anyone?

helloooo?
All I can say is, "It's about freaking time!"
How about a proiximity grenade? Timer is 4 seconds OR they detonate whenever an alien gets too close to one.
