Currently, for the hive and onos at least, when you throw it at them in a certain way, more often than not, the grenade will get stuck in them, and explode after a given time.

^ Huh? I think you've got confused with the level upgrades... Read the changelog and scroll near the bottom; You'll see a list of levels and what they are called. Ambusher is among them.
And I'm pretty sure gorges cannot build in combat anyway. But what gets me is that the marines still have welders to repair the CC, yet the aliens now have to deal with the pitiful rate that the hive heals itself at, (Or will this be jacked up in combat to compensate?).
Seriously, though, gorges were a first class annoyance. Always webbing you, covering marines spawn in webs, webbing the hive area, you get my point right?
Damn I love watching all the hope fly and then sitting here thinking... yeah the second day after this patch is out people will be spamming these boards with grenade hate and we will even get anti-grenades clans crop up thinking that the day NS got nades was the day Satan was added to the game (bit extreme but you get my point) Though looks cool I'm wondering about this get eaten and it still go boom in the onos.
I see 2 issues considering this cant be an one hit kill or extreme damage because as much as I am pro-marine choice (mostly because of how pitiful they are compared to the aliens) you cant have one lone LMG take out an onos no matter what. but the other one is I believe that it should either blow up and at least damage the **** or drop down and go boom.
Now heres my question: We all know how when you have a grenade launcher and it hits something it goes boom instantly and we've all aimed straight into a charging onos to only fire through it. (these new hit boxes may fix this) I'm pondering do grenades do instant hit damage as well? for instance a lerks sporing from a vent early game and all you've got are these light marines and obviously four seconds is enough time for the lerk to get away, grab a drink, have a laugh and go back sporing can the marines A. Cook it (weird name I would have just said prime it) B. Throw it and if its a small vent and it hits the lerks hit-box instantly blow up killing him (These nades better be able to take down a skulk or lerk or else they will be utter useless and become funny little things commanders get when they have res to burn)

I dont want to destroy your dreams but the hand grenade is quite weak/pointless right now. I hope it gets boosted a bit, not worth taking atm in combat.
By the time that 3.0 is released to the public (that can't afford $20) the hand grenades will be balanced. As for effectiveness, it shouldn't be able to instakill a lerk. If I read this right, as soon as that three minutes is up, all mariens spawn with grenades. That means it's a 0 res weapon so to speak. It would be unfair to have a 0 res weapon be able to kill a 34 res lerk. A massive detourent, YES. One hit kill, no. Even though I would like to see those that lerk with their starting res be killed in a few seconds or defend areas more then sit in a vent and spore spam the MS. Hopefully, this won't affect the holiday season release. Hate to have to wait for this for a year be it balancing or something got leaked out.

I disliked that change. Now newbies will save for Onos more often on pubs, because it has A TON of HP now... so much better than a Fade, for example, which has 250hp.
I still think there must be a 80 res alien class to fill the gap, I hope that since 1.0x and I will still be hoping for it when they annouce patch 3.1 (or 4.0).

Onos at the beginning of games are VERY powerful, but they go down rather easy when the marines are more advanced. The problem is you only need 3 upgrades to become onos.

You seem to under estimate blink a lot. Today we hade a fade who constantly was flying around in MS with blink, every once and a while he slashed one of the marines trying to gun him down while the other aliens relentlessy attacked the cc. The Fade mainly is a distraction/Harassing unit in my eyes.
Its not like I underestimate it. A Fade in 4 minutes or before of gameplay can cripple marine's expansion bad. When the second hive goes up, (im talking about 2.01 NS =) skulks, gorges and lerks get better, and Fades get a non-passive, weaker version of the regen upgrade. Its only really useful if you have carapace and adrenaline.
Too bad the days of acid rocket are gone. Ok, they were too good, but nothing some tweaking couldn't fix.

No, I beleive, that you should be able to kill the lerk in one go, (I mean they <i>do</i> have about the same HP as skulks). But, since I still agree that a 30 res creature being taken out by a partailly free weapon is pretty unbalanced, you could only get a kill if the grenade explodes very close the the lerk, and if it has any carpace upgrade it can still survive the blast, (But only bearly, leaving it very vulnerable to a pistol-totting marine).

Even though the hit-box is larger, it does not mean "4x damage" -only that your chances to hit are 4x, IMO. Since all at least *decend* players know how to shoot at the barn-door, there is no big change.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but shotguns now wont miss a single pellet, will they?
I disliked that change. Now newbies will save for Onos more often on pubs, because it has A TON of HP now... so much better than a Fade, for example, which has 250hp.
I still think there must be a 80 res alien class to fill the gap, I hope that since 1.0x and I will still be hoping for it when they annouce patch 3.1 (or 4.0).

Onos at the beginning of games are VERY powerful, but they go down rather easy when the marines are more advanced. The problem is you only need 3 upgrades to become onos.
Youre right, its not. But fades aren't ranged attackers either until you get 3 hives (and the game usually ends before that).
The Fade mainly is a distraction/Harassing unit in my eyes.
Too bad the days of acid rocket are gone. Ok, they were too good, but nothing some tweaking couldn't fix.
