THE FINAL EPISODE: (!!!! Oh, BTW, to make this easier for me and you to understand, all commander text and voice will be in a ":: blah blah blah::" format. The two of us marines stood waiting for Plague to give us his waypoint, standing at the edge of the ladder shaft in front of a hallway. ::Head East, and stay together::. We exuberantly rush forward ::Dont get too far ahead of each other!::. I slow down. We march our way through the level, winding through the twisted corridors of romana, encountering NOTHING on the way. We come out to a large room, easily 60 to 70 feet deep and 30 feet wide. 2 massive fans lie at the bottom of cylindrical shafts and a catwalk crosses these. I look down the end of the catwalk and see a skulk. I blink for a second. Neither of us has realized we have seen each other (it was late, OK). Then, click, the light went on. My teammate tears him apart with his LMG just as I pull the triger on my good ol shotteh. Splattered Skulk. We cross the room. At the far end, there are two 6 foot tall and wide red pipes. One is open, and leads to a hive, the other has a grate across it. I whip out my welder and crouch down. :: Theres a node just through that pipe::. I look as my progress bar fills. I can see the feint whitish glow. The weld finishes and breaks as a lerk arrives through the Hive Pipe, flapping in, he drops a spore cloud right by us. We head down into the newly opened pipe. ::One of you weld, the other cover. My teammate takes up a position at the elbow of the tube and I run to the weld. I can see the prize now, as I click and hold. A beautiful disk in the floor, spewing tasty white plumes of . .. something tasty. Our key to winning. The spore clouds are getting closer and closer, forcing my teammate further into the tube (the lerk is seeing how far into the tube he can see without getting shot at). The weld breaks with a satisfying CLANG! and we are good. I step out into the room. Never has securing a node felt so wonderful. My teammate backs in now, and we wait for a tower to be dropped. Like THAT!, one plops down. JOY!!!! The lerk finally shows himself fully, and my coverer's LMG perforates his wings with 50 tiny bullets. He zips away, to heal. We build the tower in peace. Resource begin pouring into our pool. 12 . . 15 . . .17. And plenty more where that came from. "Turret factory?" I ask. ::yeah, just a sec::. We set up two Sentrys in the room. ::Alright move on, now, get back to base and get some good guns::. We begin walking and I still have my welder out. A skulk and a lerk hit us in the Twin Fan room just as we exit the node pipe, and Fam and his EEVIL friends tear me and my fellow marine apart. ::That works too . . .:: We respawn in the twin gates of the good ol command room. Cramped as ever, we get down those ladders for a little elbow room. He drops an HMG for my ally and I request nothing but a shotgun (best BANG! for your buck, IMHOP). :: Get to the node again:: ::Hurry:: We rush off, Over the river and through the woods to grandmothers house we go! . . . . We step into double fan room, and we Tear a skulk en route to the node to pieces. I watch as a builder skitters off around the corner in the node pipe. Hmmm. "Lets wait till they spend RPs on a Tower and THEN we kill them" I say as Plague simultaneously says the same thing. We stand outside the pipe, ready to go in. I hear a splatting sound. We move. Running into the pipe, we vaporize the Gorge in a storm of bullets and pellets. I spiral around the resource tower and pump shotgun shells into it's base. We set up again, and know that its time to take out a hive. I had joined in the late game already, but this game had gone on FOR EVER. We move through the hive pipe. At some point along the way, the teams played musical chairs. This part of the game is a blur in my memory (hey . .its been a week), but consisted mainly of failed attempts to take out hives. I remember one in particular. After much changing around of teams, I was still marine, but Fam had repented and joined the side of light. My former marine ally had gone over to the aliens. We set off towards a hive to the north, the closest one to the marine start. We walked around the corner. A Wall of alien turrets blocked our way. ::Take the vent::. We fly up into the vent and race along. After much further meandering, twisting and turning, we reach a Hive room. It's a squarish room with a curved ceiling, and a hole in the floor filled with fetid water. There are Four entrances: One through the water via vent. One through a raised hallway that leads straight in. One through conveyor belts leading towards the double fan room, and one which leads from a tram tunnerl, though that whole area is coated with turrets and off limits. We reach the room, me toting a shotgun, one of my teammates with an HMG, and the other with a GL. The GLer unloads Grenades on the hive. ::Cover the Grenade Launcher::. Yep, I position myself near the water hole while my HMG teammate covers the other three entrances. "LVL 4!!!!!" shouts one of my teammates over voice comm. I look up into the direct, raised hallway. There is a Fade, slinging acid rockets at my HMG teammate as he bounces left and right on his jets, blasting away with his Heavy Machine gun. I look in the water. A gorge begins to crawl up the ladder and I smash him down into the water with a Point Blank Shotgun shell. He recovers and crawls up. My HMG teammate destroys the fade, and I pump a few shotgun shells into the water, but to no avail. The gorge has left. We step back. Ah . .so the hive is down. Nothing to worry about anymore. They are down to 1 hive. "########" yells storm. The hive is growing again. The gorge must have started it before I blasted him into the water (Kudos to you, Mr.Gorge, wherever you are). Its slowly unslinging itself from the ceiling as it matures. This is bad. If that hive gets up, we'll soon have aliens spawning all over us. The hive comes up and our Grenadier destroys the hive again, encountering no resistance. Well . .job well done right? Wrong. The alien team had evidently used that window while the hive was up to evolve to Fades. They come on us from all vectors. I watch as plague is smashed out of the console. And we are slaughtered in the hive room. all but fam is dead. He has an almost empty HMG, a pistol with a few shots, and a welder. We watch from spectator mode. It IS possible that he could win. Not likely . . but possible. The command room is crawling with Enemies, and fam runs to a ladder. He begisn crawling up it and looks down. A lerk is tearing towards him, likely tracking him the whole time. Fam pulls out his welder, wanting to save ammo to kill a hive (most likely), and torches the lerk to a crisp as it tries to fly up the narrow space the ladder lies in. "I welded his wings shut!" exclaims Fam. "hah hah". He continues up the ladder, and decides he'll hide here. Sure enough, the SAME guy who attacked Fam as a lerk returns as a skulk. Fam welds him too. He finally crawls to the top of the ladder and begins trekking toward a hive, when he is intercepted and finally killed by a fade and a skulk. Team Two wins. But we put up a good fight. By all rights, we should have lost when we lost the Barrel Hive base. ah . . NS.

Thanks all. Thanks a ton. Yes thansal, that is where I got the name. heh heh. Course, I have now been informed that it also means "Hugeness" in some language. I may not have many new stories for a little bit, then again, I might. It will all depend on what happens this weekend . . .more on that at a later date.
Well, you can't blame us for trying. Yeah, the adventure on Romana was a disaster in the end, but it was a =fun= disaster
More and more, I'm liking sitting in the Big Chair.
Nah, it's Safety Dance for me, while knife wh0ring the aliens.
Or... I could replace the music with some AvP 2 tracks or um... what was it again?... Oh yeah... convert some Doom music to MP3 somehow... or something. I dunno.

Another catch... well, actually... all I need is an encoder, and I can convert them... as long as they're .wav's....
I think they are. I recently used a wad editor and saw some sounds. I think it was music, but I'm not sure. I don't have an encoder, so don't expect me to.

OMG it got lost!!!! /me cries! I'll rewrite it. (:
Ok, prelude: Heavy Armor is a droppable item. It gives a marine 200 armor and absorbs *tons* of damage.
So Flayra's commanding on NS_Bast; we've been employing a "fortified phase gate" attack plan, where Flay drops a phase gate with a few turrets outside a hive. That way respawning marines can jump back into the fray. We've just cleared the Water Filtration hive, and I'm moving down the tram corridor between it and the Refinery hive.
As I reached the T-junction linking the Refinery, Tram Corridor, and Airlock (Bast's central hub), Flay suddenly said "coil! stop there; you're going to build me a phase gate." The Refinery hive was *right around the corner, no more than 30 feet down the corridor. I was terrified of discovery, armed with only a Light Machine Gun and my sidearm. Any highly evolved alien coming out of the hive would have made marine-kebobs out of me in no time.
But the phase dropped with a (to my ears) *very* loud phase-in sound, and I started building. The sparks from the construction were lound in my ears, but thankfully I finished before I was discovered. *Moments* after I finished the gate, there was a flash of light and someone stepped through the portal:
A marine clad in Heavy Armor, weilding a Heavy Machine Gun with the casual, unworried demeanor of someone on their way to the grocery store to buy a dozen eggs and a gallon of milk. He was a tank, and he knew it. Two seconds later he was followed by a second heavy marine, also toting a formidable HMG. A second after that, a third heavy and a standard grunt with a shotgun.

There is a resource node just south of the marine spawn in NS_Eclipse. This rather central location is frequently captured by marines, as it severely limits alien mobility through the map.
In the beginning of the game, the aliens had done a quick "parasite rush" - rushing to the marine spawn and parasiting the busy marines. It's not very efficient to simply kill marines, especially if you die in the process; much more useful to wait till the commander expends resources on shotguns, then take them by surprise. The parasite is perfect for this; it "tags" the marine, revealing him in hive sight to all aliens.
So here we had 3 or 4 parasited marines, and I decided to try a new early-game tactic: while my Gorge teammates built up our defenses and grabbed resource nodes, I decided to do my best to confine marines to the base area. Remember that node I mentioned? I ran up the hallway from it towards the marine base, then climbed the wall to the 2-story ceiling of the T-junction... and waited. Sure enough, I soon heard the clinking of marine footsteps as they moved to secure the node.
Two passed below me, foolishly forgetting their TSA training and not checking *all* the corners - including the ones above them! I dropped, the growl of my landing their only warning as I ripped both marines open with quick bites of my razor-sharp teeth. Intruders dealt with, I resumed my ambush spot... it wasn't long before another marine entered the junction, alone this time. He saw me, but was still quickly dispatched. A fourth marine had obviously been alerted by a concerned commander, and stitched a lead tattoo down my side before I could tear his throat out.
Finally, two more marines came around the corner. They knew where I was, there were two of them, and I had already been wounded... I eviscerated one in a whirling frenzy of teeth and claws, but the other had time to finish me off with several well-placed rounds from his LMG. Even so, I waited to be reborn with the pleasant knowledge that I had cost the marines one of the most valuable things of all - *time*.
