Isn’t Canada legalizing weed? (I'm there!)

I predict that the dems will win in a landslide vote next election and we wont have a thing to worry about.

We will pull out of all countries within 2 months of election, the patriot act will be gone, and we'll sit quietly till the terrorists strike again, and the cycle will go again.

Canada already has legalized weed in 2 provinces (maybe one, I'm not sure)

I love how 1 country, that takes up less than 1/2 of a continent, which is a twin to another continent that also carries the name America. Gets branded with the name "America" and people instantly associate it with that 1 country and forget the others.

Lets not forget, Canadians and Mexicans are Americans too

Do you have any reasons for not wanting to move to Canada, or do you just really enjoy self-mutilation?

ioutlaw, stop your biased comment. No doubt Canada is a nice place to living in, but many Canadian hates America for the wrong reasons. America is an imperialistic country, we take over other countries and try to help them (that sometimes fail). We help countries become capitalists rather than some other "stuff." While the Canadians are like, "Oh, **** that we're not gonna take over countries and help other countries." Canada does do peacekeeping in some countries but they do not like to get into war. You are moving to Canada so you can have less spam on the newspaper? Moving to Canada isn't gonna be better, or worst but moving for a polictically reason is not reasonable enough to move to a different country. One suggestion for you, stop reading news.

I live in Montreal. It's not that bad. You only have to deal with not being to understand some of the people, really. There are certain places in Montreal that are mostly/almost all English-speaking.

Anyone bashing Canadians: Just... don't. You claim that Canada is falling apart. I see no such thing here. Go away.

*eyes twitching*

Why should one stop reading the news? One of the reasons this kind of acts get passed is the general apathy of the population. They couldn't be bothered to take action against something that affects them quite badly, letting all this political crud get passed.

You know what, looking from over her in Old Europe, Canada looks like a whole lot more attractive than USA. If I ever were to emmigrate it would definitely not be to United States of Cavity Search. It seems that the two countries LOOK a bit alike, but they work remarkably different. Dare I say: european style? In the best sense of the word. Seems to be Canada managed to pick the best of two worlds: the freedom and entrepeneurship of the New World but tempered with a bit of social egalitarianism similiar to Europes social democratic movements. But without all the deadwood of the old European states to drag Canada down.

Excuse me? We've got free health care here in Australia and we're having no problems. It's called Spending Your Budget On Something Other Than More Weapons. Try it out sometime.

One thing I learnt very quickly in the service and hospitality industry: never call someone an American. If you hear an American accent, say "Oh, are you Canadian?". If the person is Canadian, they're happy. If the person is American, often they'll just nod and say "Yes, I'm Canadian". Why? Because Canadians are better recieved just about everywhere. As soon as someone identifies themselves as an American, the ambiant air temperature drops by around 10 degrees.

A lot of people simply don't like Americans. However, Canada doesn't do much to **** anyone off. Hence, people like Canadians.

I've got family over in a place called Red Deer, and they're very nice. They're currently working in some mining town way north (they're both doctors) and earning an absolute truck load of cash. Government pays them extra to take up posts in such remote areas. Great idea Better than what the government has here, which is force every medical student to spend a few years out in the bush areas as part of their degree.

Keep in mind, nowhere else in the world is like America. You can live every second of the rest of your life in Canada and never be Canadian. As soon as you take your oath in the US, you become American.
• AegeriAegeri Join Date: 2003-02-13 Member: 13486Members
I like Americans myself O_o I don't see what everyones problem with them is. Sure, the majority of times I've had discussions on computer parts/games prices I get comments like "OMG A GAMECUBE IS $350 DOLLARS! YOU MUST BE STUPID TO GET THAT RIPPED OFF LOL 111ONE ONE ONE", but that's just the way things are I guess

I like pretty much everyone, though I like the Irish and English more than others (Where my family originate from).

I just don't get why people on the net seem so strung up about where people come from and get so upset about it :/ Especially the Canadians and Americans.

Oh yeah,
Move to Toronto!
We have had almost 60 murders this year, half by guns.
I know 60 isn't that much but every weekend you hear about another shooting.

60 is very small when you think about it, New York must have 60 murders a month.

Canada is great, I love the fact that you can't go down the the corner store, buy some cerial, juice, beer and a gun.

Who needs guns? I am glad we have strict gun laws.

Also hand guns are illigal to carry on your person.
You can only have hand guns at a firing range.

Canadians always talk about how much the US sucks then they go home and get off to our pr0n! What the hell! Thats our pr0n darnit.

Everyone settle down. Stop being such nationalist fanboys or I'll give you something to yell about.

Besides, both the US and Canada are children of the same parent - the UK. We're the brash, unpolished, successful kid, and Canada is the goody-two shoes guidance counsellor.

ZING!

Ok, that was wrong. Some of my favorite people are Canadians. On the other hand, they gave us Bryan Adams, Celine Deion, Alanis Morrisette, Richard Marx, Sum 41, and tons of other horrid light rock. Before you get too worked up though canucks, I realise that you borrowed the idea of crap-pop from us, so we're just as much to blame for teaching you badly.

Ok, I'll stop now. everyone be nice or you'll be getting a full body cavity search at the US-Canada border from Officer MonsE.
