Wanting
Well, having played some 2.1q, and a lot of 2.01RC1, I find myself wanting to play some of what I learned on. See, NS was really the first first person shooted I played in depth - I only played CS before that, and we all know how strategic that gets. But I like the older things of 1.04 from time to time. A couple of nights ago, I convinces 6 other people to come play, adn we had a good two or three games of 4vs3, on eclipse then on nothing. Oh how fun it was. Im not saying I think 1.04 is better, Im just saying I would like to play it some more. There are two dedicated 1.04 servers out there, and its pretty fun. Anyone care to play at some point? Im on from about 5pm to 11pm EST, on IRC a lot... in #naturalselection, #sonsofmetal, and some others.

NS 1.04 was an amazing game
The game was just not fun. Jetpacks dominated, Marines were too strong. The only time you got a good game was with a ridiculously overpowering alien team. The game was all about
2.0 is way better. :-)
The only thing 1.04 had better: the Gorge was much more important. I miss that.

1.04 may not have been balanced, but it sure as hell was an experience you wont forget.
Epic battles for that one hive, getting that one PG up sneakily at processing, 2.0 doesn't have those things. Battles aren't as epic, there are no huge struggles for one area, everything's..faster.
2.0's good, but 1.04..swoon.
1. Putting DCs in the vents at marine start
2. TONS of skulks vs. vanilla marine battles with ambushing and the rest
3. No bottled up marines thanks to an onos that was actually a good base wrecker.
4. Not getting fully upgraded every game
5. THE THRILL OF BREAKING A TWO HIVE LOCK DOWN What a satisfying feeling!

Let people be entitled to their own opinion you nay-sayer
The only things I can say that I like more with 1.04 than with 2.0 and later, is zooming around the maps at 300 mph with a jetpack, and simply being better than the marines and capping a whole lot of res as a gorge.
And instant blink fade.
Getting killed with 9 bullets unless you get carapace(26 level 0 LMG bullets for a 2 res lifeform? plz.) wasn't very fun either.
Never fear, in 2.1 jetpacks own
Oh you mean after the 3 hour stalemate?
It just goes to show, my wit, humor, wumor and hit cannot be matched by anyone.
From what I've heard of 2.1, it looks like the good times will be coming back, and with it the hopeless addiction. ^^
PS:1 noticed skuks only got 10 aromer, holy s***, im imaginig marines domanated of course, kilen a skuk in 8 shots.
PPS: i notice that wile maken my own server

Kamikaze my friend, I know the feeling. I dedicated my entire spring and summer to NS. I failed 2 courses and had to take summer school and spent the entire time drawing pictures of skulks and marines. NS 1.04 was just addicting. Plain and simple. NS2.0 is fun.. but it seems to lack the addicting complexities that made 1.04 so great.
1.4 2.0
Thats because there was nothing TO do. You just waited for HMG/Jetpacks or for two hives. And that was dependent on your commander/gorge. I used to single handedly take down alien hives ( from commander -> hmg jetpacker ). *
NS 2.0 made it somewhat important what EVERYONE did.
*as far as pubs go
1.4 2.0

Yes, I too I wished that in my pub games I could converse more with a group of people I've never met or cared about online.
That's where I get all of my fun!
And onos wouldn't appear without charge(hive dependancy, you know).
