<div class="IPBDescription">Look up</div> G'day all, i've just thought of something, after a small comment I saw in a bunnyhopping thread - Punji Traps.
Imagine this - A normal floor, with a few points in it where there is just a gap, a gap deep enough and wide enough for a skulk or maybe a gorge to hide in.
Place a func_illusionary with some kind of organic looking netting texture over it and voila!
Not only can a skulk hide in the gaps and wait for a marine to step right into his mouth, weak gorges or lone marines can hide in them 'til backup arrives.
Sure, there are downsides, but this idea is just for a bit of fun, and I don't think it's been suggested before.
Imagine the possibilities <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Feel free to flame, i'm wearing my best asbestos suit <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

Comments
how ever, sg005, had gaps, eventhrough the map was a limted texture layout, it would sometimes hide a cloked skulk.

To put it in context: NS has no sniper rifle (thank god), you can't pop out, get one shot off, kill someone and duck back down before you're seen.
It's easily counterable as well - you don't want a marine hopping in one of them, drop an OC in it
If you're a marine, a mine'll do
And if you just don't wanna do these, it's easily detectable with SoF or MT
If you want, think of it as whack-a-skulk <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
In a hive location perhaps it could be usefull, just as an added hidy-hole. Any marine team coming it will probably ignore it in the mass confusion of attacking a hive <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
As to the camping comment; It's a skulks job to camp, ambush, suprise attack and generally just harrass and undermine the marines confidence (see: guerrilla, or guerrilla tatics). Skulks are built for this, after all, iirc, guerrilla more or less means 'A member of an irregular, and usually native, military organisation operating in occupied territory to harass the enemy in suprise attacks/raids', or something... I cant remember _exactly_, but something like this perfectly suits a skulk's purpose.
It can be balanced pretty well, and not just aliens use guerilla tactics <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
