there will have to be something about the rogue programs. Maybe the matrix allows them back in to help control neo and desotry zion
but i think they will end it with the third movie. My one hope though is that they don't over extend the series like Terminator and the new ones start sucking ***....

Scratch what I said before...THIS is the greatest ending. Andat the end, the evil Neo and Evil Jet Li hook up and then good Neo and good Jet Li come in to save the day! But then the Kilrathi appear with a hugefleetanditsliekallpschewboombangpschewpschew!!oneone1

Ahem...Most likely it'll have a standard "sappy" ending-Neo saves everybody, Trinity and Neo get married and everybody's happy. All the uneducated masses who watch the movies for the "really cool fight scene" alone and who haven't figured out why Neo has a "Big metal thingy on the back of his head" would probably explode if the movie had a cool ending involving the good guy losing.

I liked the first Matrix quite a bit, but I just didn't think Reloaded was that good. For one thing, it's pretty sad when a movie can be almost completely spoiled by watching trailers for it. The only real surprise in Revolutions was the incredibly long rave (not a pleasant surprise) and the Architect. Now, it definitely wasn't the worst action movie out there, but they didn't offer up any new legitimate things to ponder in my opinion (they just tried to sound smart). The fight scenes weren't that exciting at all, and that was almost what the whole movie was based on. But for some reason, I think that Revolutions has some potential to be pretty good.

Oh, and I know some of you don't want to hear anything negative, but I wanted to actually give some reasons of why I just didn't like Reloaded, since some of you said no one gave any good reasons.

OK this is how I think it ends.
A robot goes back in time to kill Neo and then another robot goes back in time to save him from another time zone and ...
Jokes
I think Agent Smith is a virus killing the matrix and humans.
The matrix and Neo make a deal to get rid of Agent smith before tryign to knock of each other.
Smithy is controlling the hunter seeker squidies and attacking Zion and Neo fights Agent Smith, kills him and takes out the matrix.
The End.tm

How about pointless scenes and every other character spewing psuedo-philosophical garbage? Or lack of character development? The fact that the plot consists of the Matrix Gang running around with only a vague clue of what they're doing?

I wouldn't have been disappointed with M2 if it wasn't related to the first film in any way. It's not nearly as good a film as its prequel, though, and it suffers for it.

Link pretty much sums up how I feel. Blah.

I'm torn between the 'machines hooked up to the Matrix' theory, and the 'matrix within a matrix' theory. On one hand, the first one makes sense if you think about it... it's been smacking you in the face from the very first movie. 'What is the Matrix? Control.'

As well, it leads off into the Matrix Online video game, which is set after the ending of Revolutions... perhaps players take on the role of Agents? Heck, even Smiths? It's pretty plain that Smith is a virus... which makes me wonder if he actually is. It's so blatant, when the Wachowskis tend to prefer at least a degree of subtlety.
It'd also explain how Smith got into Bane, if Bane were actually a machine plugged into the Matrix.

Alternate explanation.. perhaps the dead bodies of the Machines at the bottom of the ocean somehow are still going, plugged into each other wirelessly, creating their own Matrix. What they see as the surface is actually the seafloor.. very little light gets in down there. Huge trenches, perhaps even cities fallen into the water (with the rumored California-sinking-into-the-sea thing).

Wouldn't that be a mind-trip? That the whole Matrix thing is just a dying machine's pipedream?

Wow....I thought long and hard for days after I first saw reloaded As a matter of fact, much more so than in the first Matrix (you see - having read Baudrillard, the concept of "whoa. What's really real?" didn't exactly astound me (I guess this makes sense as the Wachiowskis actually based much of the movie on principles of Baudrillard). Reloaded was incredibly, incredibly thought-provoking for me. While there are many who like to yell that "OMG! It was all special FX! CGI is for n00bs!," I felt that the first had less cognitive substance than the second. Hell, I guess that's only me.....

Anyways, the second rocked. hard. As a matter of fact I'm still realizing new things about it, 6 months after the fact.

Oh yes. And Talesin IT seems to me that the "avatars" that people utilize in the matrix are representative of their souls (As Morpheus says: "A body can not live without the mind."). When his digital soul was corrupted by Smith, it seems to me that in a strange anti-metaphysical way, that Smith has somehow replacd bane's own soul and mine, somehow transcending the digital boundary. Hell, who knows. Maybe the "matrix within a matrix" theory is correct and the 'real world' shares the digital aspects of the Matrix. We'll just have to see It will be intresting, to say the least.

It is my theory that those who didn't like Reloaded are simply to damn counter-culturally biased and really didn't quite get Reloaded on the level at which it was meant to be comprehended. To those of you who say how much you don't like Reloaded: I suggest that you rent it or buy it, and pay a little more attention this time. Try to resist the need to pay attention to action only (Pay particular attention to the dialogue in Zion) and make an attempt to soak in some substance that the first seems to be lacking. Trust me - you'll learn a whole lot.

Talesin...GET OUT OF MY MIND! STOP READING MY MIND!

I agree with Dubbilex...so much in fact...me wubs j00 now Dubb.

The action scenes were actually the filler's. Pay attention to the movie and look for little hidden subtleties. Not bloopers, subtelties. The red candy that the oracle eats...it almost perfectly resembles the Red Pill neo had to take.

Reloaded arrived from Amazon.com on Friday. By monday I had seen it through 4-5 times.

I just left it running as background noise. It was frustrating to have a non self-contained portion of the story arc like that. It annoyed me more than anything else... some movies are GOOD cliffhangers. Empire Strikes Back is a good example of a self-contained portion of the arc, while leaving it open for continuation. It's clear in my mind though that Reloaded and Revolutions are just one movie, cut in the middle to earn more cash. Annoyance abounds.

And yes, there are a lot of hints tossed in all over the place... that Neo isn't actually the One, that the kid who transubstantiated himself in Animatrix would be a likelier candidate. The ambiguous comments ('He fights for us') from the trailers, which you assume to apply to Neo... which could quite easily be talking about Smith instead. Or even baldy-spoon-kid.

The only bit I know is that there will be no clear winner or loser. Following the biblical references spread liberally throughout the movie, the battle between good and evil is eternal. The release of the Matrix Online MMORPG proves that the Matrix isn't going to be destroyed, at the very least... unless the whole game is just a false lead.

Honestly, I'd almost prefer if it WAS a red herring, given the rather... lackluster end-result of Enter The Matrix.
