Only thing is, overview map isnt enabled whilst alive, you have to see it when dead, as its a spectator mode option. <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    That doesn't answer his question.

Let me put it this way -

Is xeno stronger in combat with each level? <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
xeno is more powerful with each level of focus buts thats irrelevant in combat seeing you get all 3 levels at once.

we hide our gorges away, oh wait, that is until they get webs, come into the marine base and create a very sticky situation indeed.

Uhh how does combat work? Do the marines have to protect the Comm chair and aliens protect the hive?

yes it has a comm in it. Only it's not a player, you have to imagine him inside and is the one who gives you stuff when you resupply.

speaking of comm, how come we don't see him in the chair anymore since 2.0?

To save on cpu usage. Why render an extra marine when you don't have to?

I don't know, I really liked it. For example as alien, to know which chair to munch to get the comm (bah pub comms never want to get out)

Also, it looks silly when you munch it, the way the thing always slides open/closed. Especially when you're spiking it, even more if you have primal scream.

    first you have a LMG

After upgrading to Weaponupgrade 1, you can chose weaponupgrade 2 or shotgun. If you upgrade to shotgun, you will lose your lmg and receive a shotgun. Every time you respawn you will receive a shotgun fom now on. After this, 2 new upgrades will be available: HMG and GL.

    Thats how it works!
  • TrevelyanTrevelyan Join Date: 2003-03-23 Member: 14834Members
What if you have a GL, and want a HMG back?
  • MrMojoMrMojo Join Date: 2002-11-25 Member: 9882Members, Constellation
Then you need another upgrade point, to buy the hmg.
  • MavericMaveric Join Date: 2002-08-07 Member: 1101Members
that kind of sucks... I can see these types of posts if NS:C is released w/o letting you choose between guns you've already payed for:
"I paid for a shotty and HMG, pay for my shotty again? WHAT?"
    and then:
"Why can't i choose between the two guns, that i've already paid for?"
    and then the worst one:
"WTH? CANT HAVE 2 GUNS, AND SWITCH BETWEEN THEM?!"

If i was a marine, i know i'd put the weapon in a weapon's locker so i could choose between the two later on... what good is paying for a shotty, then a HMG and GL only to spend another point to get another shotgun, and then TWO MORE points to work your way up to use the GL once more?! <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> *scratches head and sits on the floor*

I'm not sure whether or not you can spend more points to get a gun you already had, seeing as I've never tried it... Suffice it to say that if it's possible, nobody ever does it, Maveric; you buy a gun you're satisfied with using the rest of the game.

Throughout this whole thingymabob, I've seen one or two gorges, an onos, but mainly SKULKS and SKULKS and SKULKS!
Are Skulks the best alien class in Combat because I haven't seen any Fades or Lerks in the screenshots, or have I just missed them?

Lerks are fine, but Fade and Onos survivability is still being worked on due to their new hitboxes. It's still in beta so don't worry about it.

As of now, skulks are the best because of their size and maneuverability. They're fast and efficient, and Xenocide + Focus = Winnar.

And now, behold: this is what happens when you stop to take screenshots for everyone to look at:

Are they going to add the player levels to the scoreboard? I think that would be a cool, interesting thing to know about your teamates and foe.

Last night I was playing and there was a guy who was level 8, but was like, 3-10 or something. Webbing Gorges *do* own. They just don't get kills, they have to let other people do it for them. Thank goodness for the ability to leach exp. of other people.

Ah, makes sense. So teamwork is still prevalent I see.
  • DiabolusCaligoDiabolusCaligo Join Date: 2003-09-05 Member: 20585Members, Constellation
yeah, but team play can be annoying when you shoot a guy and almost kill him, and then your teammate gets the last shot... Luckily, you do get experience points when a teammate kills someone and you're nearby.
