Some friends of mine had a game they played called "stomach". The rules of the game were simple: while the game was on, if you saw a girl you were attracted to and wanted to ask out, you had to DO IT. Right then and there. If you didn't have the stomach for it, the other person got to punch you in the stomach. Clearly, this game is a bit on the honor system, but that's why you play it with a friend whom you can be honest with (and who won't hit you TOO hard - just hard enough to motivate you).

The goal of "stomach" isn't necessarily to get the date every time - indeed, it very often involves going up to girls you know perfectly well you have a snowball's chance in hell with. The goal is to get practice at going up to girls in general, and at keeping your cool if you get shot down.
