Anyone notice how the "S2 Staff" post like 13-year-old flamer/llamas, and the "troll"(JohnnySmash) has writing skill comparable to most of the moderators here? Makes you think.

S2Rocky may have been a bit biased towards Savage with his first post there (to be fair, most of the staff here would probably be just as in favor of NS), but I think his fellow admin S2Jesse said it best on page 2:

For anyone to make that post at all is bad. For an admin to knowlingly byass his own game versus another in a gross manner like that in unimaginiable. Argh... misinformation run amok! I can't stand people who decide to argue for one side and completely ignore the other.

NS is a better game, simple as that. This said without bias. I was a beta tester for Savage. This doesn't mean Savage isn't a fun game. Some people love it.

I hate this, as I always have, becuase it always grows into "My games *male body part* is bigger then your games *male body part*".

People "choose side" and defend them to the death, no matter how stupid they look.

Its always "MY GAME RULES!!!" "NOT AT ALL!! THIS GAME IS BETTER" "YOU SUCK" "NO YOU SUCK!!".

And as always, someone feels they have to defend one or the other. Why can't we just play what we like and stick to our own forums. I mean its not like we are fighting one another.

I actually think savage and NS are completely different but both fun in their very weird and wonderfully diverse ways... I also think that a post or two in that thread that was linked though were made with little knowledge of the subject actually backing them, hoping somehow their rabid savage fanboyism/marketting spiel would make them right anyways =/

take it from a guy who plays both games exclusively (my only current games right now except wc3)

they are both so different its ridiculous........IMO even comparing an corridor-fps to outdoor fps is differen't enough as it is.....both have different atmospheres and call for different weapon types, etc.

then compare a outdoor-rts/fps with a corridor -rts/fps? We're talkin apples and oranges folks.

the funny thing is that even though the movement in NS is much faster (skulks/lerks/freaking blink fades) savage has literally improved both my aim AND my ability to melee with a skulk......fast movements no longer SCREW with my sense of direction due to having to be so damn cautious when using ranged weps in sav (easy to get snuck up on)......I rarely get confused in NS like I used to when skulking (where did the marine go?)

Was kinda funny coming into the demo sav server for the first time as a newb (b4 I bought it) and completely owning all the other newbies in melee *cough, skulkage, cough*

With that said there will ALWAYS BE GAME BIAS. If you think its just the sav players just look at this thread. heh.

If people came onto the NS boards toting how much they like savage over NS people would **** I gurantee.
I don't see the problem with people stating they don't like a game nor its style, etc. I hate all CnC after red alert 1. I could be the damned next westwood prez or some crap and still say: "I FRIGGIN HATE ALL OUR GAMES AFTER redalert 1!!!!!!!!!!!" without a single stutter.

We all know that NS is a great game, so thats all that matters. Don't try to lump all savage players in the same 'omg th3y hat3 ns and are teh suk!' category. I've seen quite a few who play both games.

It doesn't matter who is wrong or who is right. If you are willing to defend your beliefs, no matter how wrong they may in fact be, that in itself is what makes them worthwhile.

Not that there's anything wrong with embracing the beliefs of others when you know your own will no longer serve you. The trick is to continue to be as passionate about your surrender as you were about your fight.

EVERYONE from the NS forums should sign up to the Savage forums and each post "Yeah, Savage is pretty good, but NS ROCKS!" in that topic. Show them the fanbase we have.

After playing both games, i would say Savage is much more like tribes with a 'com'. Except the players are MUCH less relient on the com, and the com's job is easier. I play NS when i feel like a good game, i play Savage when i feel like tribes with a touch of battzone.

Arent these topics (this one and the one on the savage forums) just inviting open conflict? Not the best thing to do, as they are completely different games? Do you see people arguing about which mod for HL is the best? I'm excluding the 12 yr old zealots here, as they will always have blind belief in their mods.

Anyway, no, you don't see argument about HL mods because they are all different, even though many of them have the same interface, textures, gameplay styles ETC. That's becuase they are all fundamentally different. You may as well say that all FPS are the same as they all have a gun (or big claws) and you go around killing people.

Despite this, i'm not in the best position to comment as I've only played savage once when i hijacked my friends broadband connection (stuck on 56k normally, which makes most new games unplayable) and despite it being a lot like NS, it was also a lot likeany other FPS and seemed to remind me of age of empires a lot (probably just me).

Now the only unsolved mystery is who let Geminosity havbe that candlesitck.

Oh, and The_duffy, that idea is horrible. We've already seen how the savage mods deal with something they don't like, regardless of its realism/intelligence. Further provoking them would be immature and pointless.

We played savage alot on a lan lately, and tbh, the savage engine sucks big ****...graphics and mapdesigns are good enough, but certainly not stunning as the posters said...

The Savage game is not balanced, it has poor variation and too much time is spent on building and running...

Even though we had great fun playing it, Id take NS over it any day...
