<div class="IPBDescription">Map pictures attached</div>Ns_Hydra wasn't working out for me so it's been postponed indefitely.  In it's place (with a  very similar floorplan) I give you NS_AtomicMass.  

I've been putting much more detail into the inital build this time, so even though I don't have the floorplan finished I can still post some shots.

No Env_gamma yet, but I don't think it needs it.  These might be a bit too clean and samey so far, let's hear what you think.

    i really like it chrome. mabe you should use some spotlights there in the fisrt 2 shots area, or at least, put some more lights there(its a bit dark for me).

    Looks great so far. I'd suggest at least trying out a midrange env_gamma though (1.5?). It'd probably make it really shine. Both ways. <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo--> As it is quite dark and hard to make out details right now.

    Keep it up, I like this.

    Sorry if I sound like a broken record, I think your architecture is good, but the lighting needs a bit more contrast.  I'd love to see a bit more detail, especially in the first shot.  But it looks good for now, so maybe just wait to figure out how much detail you can throw in before you hit the limits.

    That first pic was orgasmic.  I don't think I need to tell you that it needs more lights (oops, too late).  But I don't like the ladders in that last pic.  Wrong color, weird railing.

    Gotta agree with Bed here, the ladder looks... awkward. Perhaps a cage around the top ALA Return to Castle Wolfenstien ladders?

    I don't know about lights, I like the atmosphere personally, but you can't really tell from screenshots how it looks in game.

    Other than that I like your architecture, I'm experimenting with my hallways atm and they look quite similar to your walls. I particularly like the rounded corner with the grate texture.

    Here's a little pic, probably going to have add an invisible wall over the pipes so aliens can walk up walls properly. Go knows I hate jumping up to it

    Yes, and while you do need more goop in the last shot, try not to make the goop go all over the place like it did in ns_next.     i won´t say it looks great, because when i post something i prefer new ideas that only say its fine. I personally don´t like that floor texture, i would add a little more "destruction" to the map, i love it  <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo--> .

    Thank you all.  It's still early days yet. So i'm going to finish the whole layout, with this level of detail before I put anymore details in.

    I'll put in the env_gamma as Ken suggested, then adjust the lighting suitably.

    The ladder does look really out of place, but it's the best ladder texture i've got.  I'll try a few things to see if I can make it fit in.

    DB: I intend to limit the infestation to the immediate area of the hive.  I've been doing this since Flayra described ns_next as being 'heavily infested'.

    Jacq: More destruction in the next pass I promise.

    I dunno... something about these pics... it just seems like the rooms can't get away from the "I'm really a cube in disguise" thing... I'm just not.... digging them...

    mostly what it seems to be to me is, you have some great looking stuff in the center, but all the surrounding walls are just... bleh. perfect 90 degree corners everywhere. I mean, in real life that's the way every room is, but there's so much other STUFF in the corners or on the walls (unless your a cubicle dweller) that hides the cubeness of a room. I mean, WHY would a hallway have a bend in it when it would be better if it ran straight to where it was going? why not put an unusable door in there (ala CS) to give that particular coner a REASON to exist. other than that... they're good... but not specatcular like your other map looks.

    Mmmm yes.  Feeling dark without actually being dark, right out of the guidleines.

    I was 'rather pleased' when I came up the stairs and saw the view in picture 1 for the the first time.  It turned out better than expected.

    For those of you who want more detail, don't worry there will be more detail.  Now I have finished the entire layout.  I will be adding details where r_speeds permit (you would get lost too easily in it's current state).

    However, before I do that I want to get the Hive rooms to a presentable state (they're rather green boxy right now).

    Very very nice.  Great aliens style to it.  I like the dark, grungy, industrial bowels of some abandoned outpost style that it has.  The lighting contrast in your second batch of screens is better than the first screens, but the architecture is great in all of them.
