I've been putting much more detail into the inital build this time, so even though I don't have the floorplan finished I can still post some shots.
No Env_gamma yet, but I don't think it needs it. These might be a bit too clean and samey so far, let's hear what you think.

I don't know about lights, I like the atmosphere personally, but you can't really tell from screenshots how it looks in game.
Other than that I like your architecture, I'm experimenting with my hallways atm and they look quite similar to your walls. I particularly like the rounded corner with the grate texture.
Here's a little pic, probably going to have add an invisible wall over the pipes so aliens can walk up walls properly. Go knows I hate jumping up to it

I'll put in the env_gamma as Ken suggested, then adjust the lighting suitably.
The ladder does look really out of place, but it's the best ladder texture i've got. I'll try a few things to see if I can make it fit in.
DB: I intend to limit the infestation to the immediate area of the hive. I've been doing this since Flayra described ns_next as being 'heavily infested'.
Jacq: More destruction in the next pass I promise.

the only complaint is the pilar, dunno, i think u need to replace the texture for somthing better.......

mostly what it seems to be to me is, you have some great looking stuff in the center, but all the surrounding walls are just... bleh. perfect 90 degree corners everywhere. I mean, in real life that's the way every room is, but there's so much other STUFF in the corners or on the walls (unless your a cubicle dweller) that hides the cubeness of a room. I mean, WHY would a hallway have a bend in it when it would be better if it ran straight to where it was going? why not put an unusable door in there (ala CS) to give that particular coner a REASON to exist. other than that... they're good... but not specatcular like your other map looks.
Mmmm yes. Feeling dark without actually being dark, right out of the guidleines.
I was 'rather pleased' when I came up the stairs and saw the view in picture 1 for the the first time. It turned out better than expected.
For those of you who want more detail, don't worry there will be more detail. Now I have finished the entire layout. I will be adding details where r_speeds permit (you would get lost too easily in it's current state).
However, before I do that I want to get the Hive rooms to a presentable state (they're rather green boxy right now).
