Sorry to be negative and all that, but wouldn't it be a good idea to wait until NS:C is out?
Or have i missed something?

The NS community started roughly 2 years before NS came out, you know.

lol owned.
Still, when the community does seperate from those who joined the community for NSC only, at least they wont be here....

Get your facts right please. NS Combat is a new gamemode. If that is what you intended to say, then it really doesnt come across that way.

most of teh links aint working yet..
i rkn the site is more of a show of fame from the "staff" section..

Did it ever occur to you that the site had just opened up? Give it some time.
Also, the site kind of percieves NS:C as a new mod. It's not. It's like making a community for defuse maps...
Yeah, he may have made some errors in the hurry but please spare us from your craptismisme

you win!
indeed the nscombat.org website will revolve around.. well me guess NS:Combat. running ns:c tournaments, competitions etc.
Actually, it isnt like running a community for "defuse" maps, its more like running a community for "quake 3: rocket arena" as apposed to vanilla quake.
with respect to q3 and q3:RA, the difference between ns:combat and vanilla ns is what i beleive to be extended on a much larger scale, being less strategically involved and more like "deathmatch" as apposed to "assult" (refer to unreal tournament). SO in a way 'yes' its like a community for "defuse" maps for ****-strike, BUT dont you agree its to much more extent? although its just another gametype, it eradicates things such as the commander, where i beleive there will be a noticable difference between the two types. like, clan's being formed that only compete in combat mode, so on and so forth. I havent discussed this with the other admins of this community, but i intend on running a server where the only maps in rotation will be combat maps. i also beleive that some servers will run ONLY original ns maps, for the people who dislike combat mode. SO, with the release of ns:combat maybe there might be a few communities released for ORIGINAL NS.
^^ any gramatical or spelling errors in that post dont count because it's 2.30AM

website had been released... 5 - 10 minutes before i posted it here.. FYI
No, that's not true at all... RA3 was a mod for Quake 3, just as Natural Selection is to Half-Life. Combat is a game mode for NS, not a mod. Regardless of how different it is, the fact remains that it is the same mod and you really shouldn't call it a "mod" for NS because that's wrong...
If you want to use the Quake 3 example, think of it as calling Deathmatch a mod for Q3 Capture the Flag. It really doesn't matter how different the gameplay is, you should call it what it is, a gametype.
I think you've got the wrong thread here buddy.
Good I'm glad.
People stop being so negative.
Some people will come for combat and stay for the reg ns.
Some people will come for the reg and go to combat.
Having MORE people playing isn't going to hurt you one bit cause you'll all be at hamptons / champtons anyway.
I agree that I think combat will take on a life of its own with its own clans/tournaments/tatics. But there is nothing wrong with that.
Well I am glad somebody said it. I am also glad that somebody didn't have to be me...
I know dozens of people who played original ns and quit after 5 mins cause they didnt know exactly what htey were doing. but once u learn the game play and understand the mechanics, the rest will come easy.
Nostradamus, it's Nostradamus. You know... this guy!

Anyway you sparked a thought in me, one of which I had not recognized before... Perhaps NS:C will expand the userbase for regular NSbecause once people understand the play mechanics, they will feel inclined/motivated/capable of playing something more complicated. After all, if I were a first time player, I wouldn't mind something not wholly unlike a learning curve... Good thinking Predmid!
