pick one song...
...________________________________________________________
if you were to die, what single song would you pick to have played at your funeral?
Details:pick one song, post as many technical details as you feel necessary (eg, title, artist, album, remixer, length, track #, etc) and describe your reasons for choosing it in 3 words or less.

out of respect for the dead and to see how much can be learned about character from listening, lets try to keep extra comments to a minimum.

"Funeral Night" by Bella Morte, from their Remains album.

Appropriately titled, and great, faster-beat gothic-rock.

Euology- by Tool, just because I'm an ironic b@stard : )

ah no really it would depend on how I died, if it was sudden and unexpected I would probably request Let It Be.

And if I died happily of old age and fufilled all my life dreams I would probably choose Highway to Hell, just to remind everyone not to take it too seriously.

1/2 - Agnus Dei, vocal form of Adagio For Strings.

2/2 - Adagio For Strings, op. 11 by Samuel Barber. As conducted by Leonard Bernstein with London Symphony Orchestra.

A very slow piece, it always reminds me of the one scene in Platoon where the Vietnamese village is burning. It is a very sad sounding piece that touches my heart.

Hmm, its not a thing i like to think about, but a track by Cradle Of Filth called "She Mourns A Lengthening Shadow". It's the instrumental in the middle of the album "Vempire". Dispite being by a black metal band, it's a really good piece of music, full of melancholy, i really like it.

While I don't care to be mourned (I'll be dead), I think a good piece would be Amazing Grace, played with French horns.

I'm currently listening to "Change (In the House of Flies)" by Deftones, and for some reason it sounds like a good funeral song... at least for me...

Dunno if it would replace "Funeral Night" tho, maybe I'll have to make a CD of songs I want to have played at my funeral...
  • ConfuzorConfuzor Join Date: 2002-11-01 Member: 2412Awaiting Authorization
I'm not sure if I'd actually use this song, as I'm not too keen on playing sad music at my funeral. If I do intend to cause grief posthumously, I'd go for Apocalyptica - Beyond Time

Just a nice tune, somber tune... and I have yet to hear one rock song go wrong accompanied with violin.
