Hence I go straight to SC. And if you f4, all the better for me.

I don't accept that people cant understand how to gorge. I don't accept how someone with 50 res at ONE hive can decide that fade is somehow better than a new hive.

I don't enjoy being permagorge for the entire game just to cover the backs of reswhores. Which is why I've stopped doing it. We lose? Tough. Rines deserved the win. You F4/leave the server? All the better.

Its brutal but thats the way it has to be when you've played with the same players over several rounds and still NONE will go gorge. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Hehe.. if you can't beat em join em.

Today I was so fustraited with DC's first. Every single game I would ask what chamber.

"We want DC first you noob!" hehe.. I said screw it and saved for Onos! I mean seriously if out of 20 games you have been a gorge, dropped chambers for the ungrateful team then go for it. Be a rez hoar for a game or two. Kinda fun to be a Onos with regen mid game. In fact, if your careful it can almost help! (As long as your team isn't full of rez hoars like you!)

I want to do what Techen and Necrosis do, but I can't bring myself to. I just have to gorge every time, I heal people, I scream at them to come back out of the line of fire and let me heal them. I never get thanked, I never ask for thanks. I save up and build RT's, I use my healspray kills for chambers. I just can't bring myself to doom the team, because very often I am one of two gorges who bother to permagorge.

How do you just let go? How do you just say screw it, and condemn an entire game? I would if I could but I can't. Enslaved because I care, what is it called again? Irony?

Cold-NiTe, you want to know how to do it? Just realize you are playing to have fun. After a few rounds while the res-hogs suffer heavy losses while being a 1-hive onos, they'll get the picture. Better yet, go marines at the start and stomp them flat, while they have no gorges.

I will use my starting res for the first hive, the first 3 chambers, or the first few resource nodes about 14 out of 15 times. And though I help the team, I am far too stubborn to gorge full time. I will gorge frequently to dump my res, but I love skulking, so I usually morph back and go to fight on the front lines.

The only time I will not gorge is so I can practice fading. I only fade on servers I know though, with enough regulars on that know how to gorge. I also ask the team, because I know it is irritating to play with people who hoard resources.

I see Necrosis gorging full time, all the time. He is quite the team player! <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo--> You really should thank the full-time gorges whenever you meet them, and with what they go though, they probably need it. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

I agree with this statement and will usually drop the 2nd hive if I reach 50 res first. But if my alien team is getting owned by the marines, then I might go early fade and do my best to slow down the marine expansion. Usually this one early fade is enough to put the aliens back in the game.

I'd say it's more like the marine team has to suck

Heh, thanks path, but seriously, I just keep my head down and do what I do. I have to say, all credit to the people I play with, such as Path, Xeero, etc, who make being a gorge enjoyable. Nothing better than feeling part of a well oiled machine.

Cold nite - My advice, as others have said, is to realise its just a game. And to be honest, its fun to let the marines have a good solid romp over bad players. I'm not blowing my own trumpet here, but I have been in games where the 2 permagorges have literally saved it. I've been in one game where I'd enough res for second hive, the two other players went onos and fade rather than drop it themselves- so I decided I'd play hoarder too.

Marines shotty rushed our only hive while the fade/onos destroyed their base. We lost, gg. TBH I was glad - marines deserved the win and it would have been unfair for them to lose to two smacktards and a team player.

Put another way - do you REALLY want to sit in the ready room after a win only to have 5 smacktards tell the marines how badly they were owned........ when in reality the marines DESERVED the win?

IMHO I'd rather lose than see a poor team win. You EARN a win, you don't have it handed to you by a better player.
