<div class="IPBDescription">What exactly needs changing?</div> Reading through the NS:C screenshots thread I ran into one of Max's little posts:

According to the changelog threads, no changes have been made to regular NS yet? Makes me wonder how long this patch is going to take Or is 2.1 going to be primarily Combat-related?
There are other things in progress.

This got me intrigued. Now, we know that 2.1 is going to ship with Steam support. We know that it's probably going to fix those few remaining bugs such as bile bomb sometimes not working. But gameplay wise, what exactly needs fixing or changing?
What many people would say, and this is my opinion as well, is that 2.01 is pretty much balanced. The better side will generally win; the only imbalances seem to be map-related. The game really has come a long way, and I sit here thinking to myself: Well heck, what have the developers got left to do?
The only thing I can think of that might be going in is marine third-person reload animations. Does anyone else have any speculation on what might be coming in 2.1? Could one of the devs give us a hint or a nibble? <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
I guess the big question here is: Does anyone think that NS needs to change much more from it's current incarnation? Is what we have now, NS 2.01, the vision of NS that Flayra imagined?

I'd replace acid rocket completely too or change it but that's just a fade fanperson speaking =P
And someone willing to do the Dutch one. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
- random bugs
- more maps ( which they actually are working on, I think)
What with all the complaints about Phermones, one might HOPE for a replacement ability... but that may be pushing speculation too far.
Changing the 1st person models for the guns? Whatever for?
Also note this is a speculation thread, not a suggestion one.
far from it

D:
What I'd LIKE to see is missionbased gamemodes, cooler onos charge and cooler fade abilities. Thats it, I guess. Oh, and maybe make those jetpacks a bit more attractive for pubbers.
*starts manically laughing*
Ahem.
*Fixes the collar on his shirt*
There are plenty of new additions.
Great, now I'm excited about NS for about the 6th time in the last month <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Could someone do a Finnish version, I wonder. Not me, I have other communities to help and I don't need translation anyways, it's just national pride <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I thought I heard somewhere they were going to make the fade sorta cloak while blinking or something or was that just wild rumour? ~tilts head curiously~
What? Stop sniffin that whiteout.
There's more translations in the making, and an announcement calling for more help coming up - it would've been posted already if my motheboard hadn't intervened...
As for further 2.1 info, let's just say that we'll see a few *ahem* additions...
Just to cause mass chaos and anarchy I'll wildly speculate that you mean flayra got the flamethrower working or introduced a new alien... or maybe even both o.O
Mind you, judging from the higher-ups postings, we'll be getting a bit more than minor tweaks and Combat mode. Which is nice.
What? Stop sniffin that whiteout. <!--QuoteEnd--> </td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'> <!--QuoteEEnd-->
Dude they are. I'm nearly 100% sure blink will be slowed down.

If you're 100% sure, how come you asked then? :|
Fairly balanced, jetpacks are way too expensive or way too ineffective, lerks are a bit underpowered, aliens expand a little too fast, and skulk is slightly overpowered. D-M-S is way too forced as starting chamber order.
My personal opinion on 2.01 balance for clannies:
Marine biased, but not too bad. Fades are WAY overpowered (the backbone of most clans revolves around 3-5 aliens going fade as soon as they get 50 res). D-M-S is way too forced as order. Heavy armor is next to useless, electrification costs too much, shotguns are a little too strong and onos die too fast.
