So I thought I'd make one for the opposite. What's your most triumphant moment of NS?
Mine is a little ridiculous, but caused me and my friend watching to cheer in delight. I was evolving to an Onos from a Gorge. I thought I was hidden away safely. Suddenly a Marine comes up. At first I don't think he notices me, but then he starts shooting.
Then I REDEEM!!! I didn't know that eggs could redeem. I sat there shocked for a second, trying to figure out what happened. Then me and my friend started (as I said) yelling in delight stuff like "That was AWESOME" or "DUDE you're such a lucky ****!"
But then I ended up with an Onos with redeem (which I hate) instead of regen (which I love). Oh well. Then I said something over global chat like "I am teh redeeming eggg!!!!!11!!1"
Oh, and one time I killed a Lerk. That was exciting.

Xero, what server was this? I think I was there! I think it was yesterday, right? Someone started firing a shotty at some onoses in the room, suddenly his name comes up for two kills instantaneously, and we see BOTH onoses dead... That was some serious pwnage!
As for me, earlier today I went to |di|'s clan server... We were killing the marines really harshly on ns_origin, so their commander builds like 8 comm chairs in the little alcove where the original comm chair starts out.
Well, we were almost all onoses, and we couldn't get through to the 2 IPs hidden in the back of the comm chairs. We sat there goring the chairs, when finally one of us finds that he can duck and crawl around the chairs and make it to the back! We took turns going back there and having delicious marine snacks <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> The moment when we finally broke through and had free reign to eat marines was a triumphant one... mmmm.
My MOST triumphant moment ever, however, was in Marine Spawn on ns_tanith. It was an endgame stalemate, and we were getting hounded by onoses and lerks. I spawned in at one point, pulled my pistol, and started firing at the onoses. By the time the smoke cleared, I had killed TWO onoses on one handgun magazine! OMFGZWOW! That's almost better than knifing an onos!

Aliens always loose this because of the ping of dead.
My best round was in 1.04 joined the server, saw we relocated to cargo and had full upgrades, lots of turrets and 4 ips, sure win, jeah, Sadly we had no command chair, man this round was soo funny, sadly we had no change in midgame.
it was satisfiing cus i killed 3 fades 2 lerks and 4 gorges (1.04) while running to a hive without having a chance to reach it.
So me and like 3 other guys faded into their 6 person base, and we ripped them apart with acid rockets. It was quite possibly the most fun thing ever, that the clan (TKS) cheated on their own server and STILL GOT THEIR **** KICKED.
For the record, TKS is a bunch of faggots who, if given administrative priviledge and are losing, will try to stack the game so that their team wins. Too bad that they have no skills whatsoever. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

I had just climbed down from Feedwater into that little room that leads to the tunnel when I start seeing people type Onos, onos! and yelling it into their mics. Wondering where the onos are, I strafe into the tunnel at the exact moment 3 marines emerge from the tram and start running towards me. I'm not lying or exaggerating at all, this was cinematic. This was from all the way across the tunnel too, so they were quite a ways away. One of them has a mic and is the one yelling Onos! Then, I see two skulks burst out from behind them followed by one... two... three onos. Now it's like something from Jursassic park. Well the marines don't look back, they just keep running toward me. All I have is an LMG. Now, the skulks are running faster than the onos so they're all jumping and biting at the marines--I take my LMG and blast two of them (but by this time I think there might have been another). Anyway, long story short, we lost, and I didn't kill any onos... but I did kill those skulks in the tunnel, and most of us made it back to base to put up a nice fight. I just couldn't help but think I was in a movie or something. It was that cool.
My friend and 3 other LMG marines are sitting south loop. They knife down the alien resource node, which ofcourse enrages the aliens. 2 fades blink in within about 5 seconds of the node going down. Massive firefight erupts, my friend LMGs one down, the other fade gets knifed (it had redemption and it got knifed lol!). No marine deaths. Meds and ammo fly from the ceiling courtesy of a very happy comm. About 15 seconds later 4 skulks leap into the room (2 of which were the fades that just died), one marine goes down, all the skulks die after my friend pistol whips two of them. More meds and ammo pour down. Repeat another TWO TIMES. The aliens just couldn't take that room. It was very cool. My friends kill count from that one room was 1 fade and something like 6 skulks.

Naah it was a couple of weeks ago, on our clan server (see sig)
Before anything happened everything seemed alright we got the closet two res and had a TF turrets everything. Unluckily the aliens came at us suiciding and then an onos finished everything off, this is when things got bad and we were pushed back into our starting based left with pretty much nothing....
Ok so the marines are getting pretty much pounded we switched commanders like 3 times before I said ahh crap what the hell. I went into the commander thinking this 'Haha I'll just litter the place with turrets since we will lose' now mind you they have offense chambers outside right outside, nextdoor so we are stuck in our base everyone is like OMG, gg. Everyone starts yelling dont lay turrets down WTH. Well its the turrets that would save us later. Before all this happened people were already in HA and HMGs and stuff. So the old commander deleted the Arms Lab after getting +3 everything. Well we needed the HA again so I had to wait from our RT (the one in marine start) too get the arms lab then a prototype. Meanwhile people are just making it by cause I'm dropping Medkits like crazy. Everyone says hooray as we get HA and HMG's. About 20 minutes later everyone has HA and HMG/GL/Shotgun. Everyone rushes out and starts blowing the **** out of everything with the help of siege turrets. We get pushed back by some onos's I count and I do not lie about 30 or more turrets. The onos was awfully surprised when he turned that corner and got shredded into bits of green chunks of meat. Meanwhile two people with grenades Johhny something, and SpazMaz or something fire outside blowing them away. We finally make it outside now mind you at the time I started commanding Aliens, and Marines knew it was over that was the whole point of making the turrets was my thought of 'what the hell waste'em on turrets' and those turrets held off about 10 onos's but a few did come and kill about 10 of our turrets only to be rebuilt. An hour later we are inside the Gen room setting up a TF and sieges while Snake is defending off the onos and attacks by the aliens. We finally took GEN over and celebrated things were looking good for us for once. We put a phasegate, turrets, and TF there. Then we moved on. We saw about 10 or more offense towers so we set up a TF and sieges right outside. After the offense towers were gone we took the two RT's. And moved on after putting a phasegate down and some turrets. I made a big mistake of deciding not to put turrets near those two resources as you will read later. We move on into the Vent. We bomb the **** out of that but almost lose it too 3 onos's but luckily the turrets and the way people came threw the phasegates held them off. I put down a tf and sieges near the Hive2 location and started too think YES finally victory is ours. At this point I was annoyed by the constant demands for HA/HMG/JP/SHOTGUN/WELDER. I barked at the people telling them they die far too often too deserve anything other then a HMG/HA/LA. Meanwhile in the back near the two resource towers they took them down and took them over then also defeated the sentry farm at Generator. Snake went back and we took GEn again doing the same thing. We attacked Hive2 again but they came with about 4-5 onos's and destroyed the TF and sieges. We we're being push backed as the aliens relentless assault too defeat us went on. After securing GEN for the second time Vent was being destroyed by two onos's they destroyed some of this and that but were nothing too the people with HA/HMG's. We finally took over Hive2 with the work of some nice Cordnation by Snake with Jp/Shotguns/HMG. We put down turrets phasegate the regular stuff. GEN was lost again Snake went and died at gen then he went again and killed them and had enough time too build a phasegate he screamed threw his MIC for people too come in we turret farmed this again. Vent was being crushed and people simply did not have HA/HMG its so much easier being a footsoldier when no one is nagging/demanding **** all the time <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo--> Vent was lost and Hive2 was being defeated this was the begging of the end. They took vent and we killed the onos's Meanwhile GEN was being attacked again and one guy was left at Hive2 while he screamed in chat that they were attacking, this would be a major blunder on my side for I did not read his message till it was too late. We got gen secured as Hive2 went down as I read the last message and cry of the Hive2 base being attacked and realized I should pay attention too that more. Its hard because people keep requesting special **** 'give me jp and shotty' 'MEDKIT' 'WELDER' etc. everyone cant settle for HMG/HA. Snake went off and hid in a corner as he told me too scan the area Gen was lost again and I knew things were going bad someone made a comment 'this is like vietnam' this battle was going for about 3 hours now constant pushing back and fourth between the two skilled teams. I layed down a tf and sieges for snake and Phasegate. People came and the sieges destroyed the offense towers at the expense of about 10 people. A onos came and ate that too. Snake left he had too go. We were back too Square one back too the deadly place where we were before except our spirits were low are energy was low, our morale was low. We had been beaten and tossed around and we were back too our Marine spawn. Aliens said 'GG' and 'gj necron' and 'best game I've played in a long time' marines agreed. 5 onos's came in and destroyed the armoury the turrets everything I screamed "NECRONS LAST STAND AHHHHH!" and so it went. I got out of the chair and fought for about a few minutes before we were all overcomed by the alien plague. We watched as the last IP's and command chair went down, it reminded me of when we first started out. Except it was the end. We had no resources no nothing we had no way too hold off 5 onos's that were carefully planning the attack. No way at all. Not with LMG's and no armoury no nothing. We all said GG, Best game I've played in a long time, gj necron, gj team, gj aliens etc. and the map finally changed at -161 minutes. I eventually left cause man I was tired I'm writing this after the battle.
For those who were in it, Good job, and yes that was the best game I've had in NS period.
Oh and special thanks too my best marines, dude, johnnysmash, Snake, OddJob, and several others whos names slip my mind.

Strangly enough, we tookk out their 3rd hive no problem, and continued to r0x0r ther b0x0rz the whole round.

With aliens everywhere, we ended up relocating and sieging 6 times just as the older base was being destroyed. And we eventualy won.
Game: 2.0
I had decided to go gorge, I always like being gorge because I am very good at placing WoL in Key locations. I decided to cap a few res nodes towards there base. I caped xeanoform research and Computer lab. Now we had about 5 Res caped and a second hive was going up. The marines were having a bad run of luck and just couldn't get too far before 3 or 4 skulks would rip into them.
I decided to get ballsy and went right outside the marine base on the leftside, the entrance with the closing door thats by its self on the left side of the MS, near the RES. Well I was right around the corner in that area with all the boxes, the area thats an intersection with the stacked boxes. SC were our first chamber and DC were our second. I placed a SC to get up on the boxes and then a DC to get up to the very top.
Once I was up and cloaked, I started to build, I placed 6 OCs along the top of the boxes backed up by 5 DCs. I then put 3 more OCs on the ground also backed up by DCs. The marines had been very quite and I hadn't seen too many kills on the top corner in the last while. I voiced over the comm "whats going on?" my team mate said they are held up in base, getting res. Just as he finished that sentence, I heard a sound.
It was a blood chilling sound, the sound of 6 HAs advancing down the corridor right towards ME! Thud, ThuD, ThUD, THUD. They turned the corner and were all grouped up. All of a sudden the killer WoL uncloaked and all 9 OCs started to fire. The HAs were all aimed with SGs, no HMGs and no GLs, this would be there down fall. They stayed back against the far wall firing there SGs but the DCs were numorus enough to keep everything alive. I was heal spraying as they fired and my OCs were taking major DMG.
"AGHHHH" cLaNk* One of the HAs was dead, the other 5 started to move forward... "AGHHH cLaNk* a second was dead, then another; 2 of my OCs were dead and 2 more almost. Aghhh cLaNk*, nows theres only 1 left and hes running for it, he turns around as I run up to him and start heal spraying him, he turns the corner and is safe from the OCs, so he turns around, pulls out his SG and is about to fire justn as my Heal spry kills him!
I had just killed 6 HAs without any team back up for which I was begging!
that made me SO happy. I asked the marine what they were going to do with that train and they told me it was a Hive killing misson! So I saved a hive!

Started on ns_origin i gorged and asked someone if they wanted to be a gorge buddy with me, he agreed and we put down mcs and moved out to the rine spawn.
We get out side rine spawn after placing rt's on the way.
We drop 1 MC and OC around the corner, we both had celerity gorges. So putting the mc's down gave us plenty of adren.
We then sat out the front of their spawn just heal spraying and spitting, we get pushed back a few times to our 1 mc and 1 oc so we get some more stuff up.
Long story short we got 3 hives before the rines could move out of spawn. It was too distracting having 2 gorges outside their spawn building so they couldnt go out the back way till we were clear.
They did siege us to move us back but we moved our stuff further back and got onii to rip the base to shreds. By that time me and my buddy gorge were good mates (we never knew each other before).
Then the next 7 games in a row we did the same strat with mc's and gorging out the front of rine spawn and even though the rines knew what we were gonna do we still won. We lost a gorge or two due to occasional concentrated SG fire but we always won.
Pity i dont have my cable anymore and am reduced to 28k coz i would luv to keep trying this out, it was just so much fun and triumphant after winning with just 2 gorges holding the rines back. I also havent seen my gorge buddy since <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

I have placed 9 all the time.
This was an epic game, we had vent, they had arch and DCD. They had Holo, defenses out of siege range from reception where our main base was. After a brief period of static struggle against sporing lerks and OC's, we get HA/Shotty and rush the wol in Holo. We kill 2 onii, several skulks and least a lerk and a gorge.
I get parasited.
We charge onwards to DCD, setup a siege base in processing and blow DCD to smithereens.
Suddenly, we see "No Commander" and the comm gets killed. He forgot to place a New CC. While the CC was going down, they had recaptured vent, things were looking ominous.
All the HA's grouped up. We charged to Archiving, which luckily for us wasnt well defended. By constantly welding and covering, we made it to Arch without a single HA lost since the siege of DCD. Most players were low on health, but not on armor. Arch gos down as well as a couple fades and Onos.
The aliens forgot to put up Vent, the lovely ping of death begins it's sweet sweet music and the aliens drop like flies.
Best comeback ever, and I was parasited for half the game, devoured twice, got lowered to three health AND delivered the final shot against the hive.
Great Game.
Oh , and that mad game where the whole marine team was so lucky with the knife a hardened samuraï would have been apaled. We were relocating to Processing on Caged , and masses of skulks were heading to that location. We got slaugthered , but the last remaining marine managed to knife down the whole bunch of skulks ! Later on I knifed fades and a few more skulks , we were all spamming "taunt" and thought we'd knife the hive next. Unfortunately , Processing is a bad relocation place when lerks spam spores from the vent... finally the onos and fades came in , we ravaged them several times with various weapons (from the knife to HMGs) but they eventually crushed our base.

Seriously coz i thought u could only build 8 of any one type of chamber in an area, why did i have this locked in my head then??

Edit: I just tested it and 8 is the max for OC's so how did u get 9??
Anyways...We're fighting along for a while, nothing special happening. They get two hives, we have central processing and marine start. Our comm gets about 6 of us in a group, sends us to vent. Probably 4 of us had shotguns. Well, of course we all get separated, but with some patient guidance by our comm, and cries of "No, this way nubcaek!" We manage to all get to the Ventilation Hive. We come in from the sewer side (I welded the grate) and we all climb down the ladders on that side to the hive.
We walk underneath the hive, with plenty of D and M chambers but no OC. Well, what do we see standing under the hive? ONOS! But wait, he's facing away from us, and somehow didn't hear us. Well, we're all standing there in shock or something, and the comm says "Wait, don't make any noise. When I give the countdown, everyone shoot the onos." So he counts down from three, and we unload a barrage. It must've freaked that Onos out. You would think he was afk to not hear us come in, but the moment we opened fire he took off with all his tentacles tucked between his legs. Much cheering and cries of delight from our squad. As one guy yelled, "Man, I stuck my shotty right up that Onos' ### and pulled the trigger!"
Instead of chasing the Onos, we were all good little marines and turned our fire on the hive. Bang bang, it was down, and who shows up but Mr. Onos! Everyone turns and shoots with perfect timing, and his mighty carcass fell under our withering barrage. We clear out all the structures and secure the hive, and are about to move out to the other hive when my connection dies. C'est la vie, or something.
But that first, concentrated fire against the Onos was the best, especially when he immediately took off running like a scared little girl.
We took off and headed to powersilo. It was webbed up on the way down there, so we knew they had 3 hives. We bypassed the nodes and went for the hive jugular. We got a HELL of a lot of resistance by about 3 onos, but we had all the weapon upgrades, so we managed to scare them off while we destroyed the powersilo hive. Then we start to move towards via, fighting the whole way.
THEN our comm starts screaming for us to come back, and how there were several onos ripping the base apart (since there was nobody there). Well, we started heading back when our commander died (which can only be assumed the comm chair was destroyed). So, we all came to a consensus that there was nothing left to defend if we had gone back. We decided to press forward, and we took out the via hive with lots of resistance, but a little less than before.
Finally, we got to cargo and had this big battle with the onos that tore up our base, and 4 out of the original 8 were killed, but they survived and killed any skulk that spawned in. We killed the hive with no IPs, no commander, nothing... We won by the skin of our teeth. Seriously coz i thought u could only build 8 of any one type of chamber in an area, why did i have this locked in my head then??

thats strange, I am pretty sure I have placed 9, maybe it was because of the differences in height.
Does anyone know how the "area" thing works for OCs?
I want a real answer not, "u can only place so many in an area" I know that part, how is the area set up?

Sure, might not seem triumphant compared to other stuff I've done like stealth hives in the middle of marine bases, holding off tons of marines with just a gorge or single-handedly wiping out a marine base with a fade but I felt so much more 'waii' for having pulled off such a 'movie style' move than any of the other stuff has made me feel.
I can almost see the marine with the fade clinging to his back as it guts him now, his screams tapering off into a fit of gurgles as his throat gushes like a red river o.O
our comm had relocated to eclipse hive and we couldnt upgrade or anything
finally the comm left and i started to drop jp and sending groups of ppl to kill
computer core hive, they all die and the aliens own our base, a jp hmg is at
maint i drop a cc seconds before mine gets kille, he builds it and an ip and armory
hand out 2 shotguns(team of three vs 5 aliens)
we killed the hive in our las glorious stand
Picture this: 6 HA marines, all carrying HMGs, are backed into a tiny room with their arms lab, CC, and about 300 res in the stockpile. It's their last stand, but they are holding their own - we aliens can't get to them! Two onos can't even get into the room - they just get torn apart by the HMGs (Lvl 3). How to end this? Send me in. I tear into the room like a shot and the massive pwnage begins. I Xenocide right in the middle of the base, killing 4 HAs. The Onos rush in, and its game over marines.

i was an alien and the marines killed all of our gorges, and they did a jp hmg rush half of our team was gorge, 1 lerk and the rest skulks all of the gorges healed hive and it went from"our hive is dying" to "our hive is under attack" in less than 3 seconds, we took back both of the other hives and won the game.
