It's stupid nostalgia, 1.04 wasn't any more fun than 2.0 is right now, apart from maybe the first month or three.
On good servers 2.0(1) is still fun, it's just taking time for new players to get used to the game, and more importantly old players to quit whining about how great 1.04 was when it blatantly wasn't, and start adapting instead of holding on to the past.
1.04, in all fairness, was cack, and hence 2.0 is here. 2.0 needs some work on it, hopefully when it's gotten balanced then there will be efforts to increase the strategies that are viable for marines and to a lesser extent aliens.
You compare NS to the released and complete Q3 and CS, both of which (yes even the latter) are pretty much done with for updating and perfecting...yet NS is still in development really. I personally am not going to be shedding tears if you do "leave" the game, Anim...I doubt many will.
1.04 was more fun on publics because 1-2 people could win the game for marines were as now on publics 1-2 people make hardly any difference to a marine with retards for team mates.

it was the 1st time i took extacy, i dont even remember how, but according to some1 from i17/irc a bloke told me this would make me feel better and gave it to me, me being drunk didnt think and took it.... And if u were actually at i17 u woulda understood, and ne1 whos able to play on their pc for longer than 5 hour has metal problems imo ;p

few hours of q3 split throughout 5 days . about 2 hours of ns . 3 of cs due to matches . bit of tron late night . other than that was just sleeping / sitting around talking.

Hrm, there seems to be an incredible need for this topic to be set upon by a mod. This doesn't even belong in the Off-Topic forum, this belongs....in some AOL Chatroom somewhere, where they can argue while playing sailormoon trivia.
Pardon me for attempting to post something useful, but...
There was a large gap of time between NS 1.0 and 1.04. It took a while for all the bugs to be hammered out. With a new version that includes so much new content, it will be about the same. Some of the fixes and improvements from 1.0x will carry over, and you'll just have to wait for the new issues to be fixed. That's just how major version changes work. I'd still much rather play 2.0 than 1.04 anyway.
At least now you have an alternative: play on some beta servers. 2.01b is pretty nice, and 2.01d will be once a couple annoying (and probably related) bugs get hammered out.

you're criticizing anim for playing a pc at a LAN when the original topic is about ns
