Hello all. I am a brand new member to these forums. I have been following this mod for a while though, and I would love to have helped, alas, I came to late. I thought I would pick up the NSTR and try my hand at mapping, so you might see some peliminary sshots ove on the mapping forum, but until then I'll just hang out and talk to ppl. Talk to you all later on!
Hi, i'm Kaine, sometime people call me Ben too (is that my name... yeh, i think <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo--> ) I come from Drysdale in Australia (Southern Victoria, buy an atlas) I play a few HL mods (FLF, AHL mainly), Global Operations and Quake3A. Found a post about this mod during one of my few and far between visits to PHL and thought it looked interesting. can't wait for releasage. GW from what i've seen so far. I'll be pokin' around in graphics/texturing and stuff if i have the time, so i hope to be around for a bit. Kudos all! <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->
Hey, I just registered an account on this board and heard about this mod yesterday. My name is Brad or The Wicker Man, from the awesome Iron Maiden song <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo--> . I live in Quebec, Canada(for those of you who dont know geography outside of U.S. lol). Anyways, enough with the stupid intro crap I'll get to the point and say hello.
From me and hopefully all of the community here I say G'day <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
I love NS so very much. <!--emo&:p--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'><!--endemo-->

Hi this is my first post here but Ive been following NS from May I think, and I first saw it long before that. This mod will most likely be the best halflife mod ever and I can´t wait to play it. I am also very much interested in the upcoming russian front mod, and if you visit those forums some day you will see just how interested I am <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->

First post on these forums, I've been hanging out on the <a href="http://www.dayofdefeatmod.com" target="_blank">Day of Defeat</a> forums for years and been idling in IRC for just as long. Been watching this mod at a distance for some time now, but only recently developed a very keen interest in NS (Thanks a lot Creme...)
I beta test for <a href="http://www.hlrally.net" target="_blank">HLRally</a> and I am looking forward to NS just as much.
I am currently doing a multimedia course and I have a lot of knowledge of graphic design and 2D art.
I believe thats about it.
Look out for me on irc in: #dod as a peon, #hlrally as an op (OBEY THE RULES ######) and #ns as a lowly nobody <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->
EDIT: Oh and I'm planning an NS map, here's hoping I find the time to make it
Well... Hey all im a new forumer round here and decded to register considering that i got nothing else to do. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':angry:'><!--endemo--> And ive als been waiting in suspense everyday wondering if this would finally be the day the mod would be released. (Im completely tired of d/ling new mods which i play for bout 2 hours then dump, im bored of Starcraft, Diablo 2, and Tribes 2, and the usual tormening of th public in GTA 3 is fun every now and then it does get repettative.)
You sir, need StepMania! Not only is it a spiffy way to pass the time, but assign the directions to W,A,D,S and you can literally practice dodging in FPS style!
Hell, asign player 2's controls to the Arrow keys and do double mode! Practice becomming ambidextrous!
Work yourself up in practice until you can beat the F-Zero X song on this page: <a href="http://www.ddrmaniax.net/dwi_index.php?mix=bemaniruler" target="_blank">http://www.ddrmaniax.net/dwi_index.php?mix=bemaniruler</a>
Here's the link to get the actual game: <a href="http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/stepmania/stepmania_300beta5.exe?download" target="_blank">http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/stepman....ownload</a> (Choose a server and it'll download)
Here's the link for songs for the game: <a href="http://www.ddrmaniax.net/" target="_blank">http://www.ddrmaniax.net/</a> (The SimFile section)
There, have fun all. Thanks to JediYoshi for enlightening me to this spiffy DDR game! =D
Hiya all, as you can probably see by my postcount I'm new to the NS forums - I was having a look at the new Tour of Duty mod when I saw someone mention (praisingly) Natural Selection.. So I checked a few websites and eventually found the official URL. What can I say? I'm determined that this game may infact change the way we see FPS games, especially the Teamwork factor.
Just like to say good job so far to the Devs, and playtesters.. I know how hard it can be to work on an extremly large project, and the pressures of releasing on time etc.
Past few months I have been doing a gaming league project covering some of the best fps games, and it was successful to say the least. (almost 6,000 callsigns and 550+ teams signed up). im now working on another gaming league, dedicated to larger scale games such as JK2, CS, DOD and now NS.
It's still in the works, but now after reading up on NS I am discussing features that would help make the league a success.. So suggestions are always a warm welcome!

Welcome Rafe, nice to see someone literate and posting in the correct place. All you new people, be sure to check out the NS IRC channel too, #naturalselection on gamesnet. Theres a link on www.readyroom.org if you would like to use a java IRC client.
Oh yes, and I would point you to talk to Parse_Error, who is currently developing an integrated Clan listing and NS ladder system.
Thanks for the reply, I will look into talking to Parse about this, see what happens <!--emo&:)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'><!--endemo-->
www.bqleagues.com , www.bqlforums.com , www.battle-quest.net , www.battle-quest.com and www.bq-forums.com were some of the urls of the past league, incase you wanted to look at the work.
The new league is set to be <b>far</b> superior to BQL, under the name of StarLance Gaming Leagues (www.starlance.com).
However its not the looks of the league, or the scripts, it is the leadership.. and that is truly hard to find, especially a devoted team of admins who can do the job.
Wasn't iformed about a line... <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->

I don't think hes saying that FP will be the only place to download it - I think he means that most download areas will be low on bandwidth after the initial release, and hes just saying FP tends to be seriously slow with its ques <!--emo&???--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'><!--endemo-->
If I was a high speed connection I would be more than willing to put it on my dedicated server to help aid the release.
Im in Scotland, UK and found out about the mod through BY. (UK g.s.p..), anyhow it is looking seriously impressive. Nice change from the usual by the look of things.
btw, are you going to release NS only through downloads or will it be available on magazine coverdiscs , PC gamer etc..?
I only ask because 80 megs or whatever is gonna take a loooong time if you're a 56k peasant like myself...
