I've experienced some flaming about constellation too. *shrug* Its annoying being hasseled about it, but I'm not going to waste my time acting angry about a decision I made.

Yup, yup, I agree with almost everything on this thread and props to you constelation members. Only thing that I almost busted a gut laughing at was this.

    <!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->I found out that Flayra spent ten thousand dollars on professional voice acters and studios.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

Think about it and I'm sure you will be cracking up in no time as well.

Hmmm....I'm not a Constellation member, but people that are flaming you just because you donated money towards a team of devs that are making this mod entirely out of thier own expense is such bull****.

I agree that people that go around insulting people on the internet simply because no harm can come to them really need a kick up the ****.

Reality check, on the other side of your provided broadband line, there is a person there who may feel bad about what you say.

People who insult others because they have low self-esteem and they need a boost make me laugh.

aaahh, we'll get to you later critical, the vets are a whole different story. If you don't respect the vets, a quick asskicking will change your attitude pretty darn fast. The constellation members on the other hand don't have any particular skill, we just have our cool blue icon next to our name.

I, for one, have never encountered any constellation bashers, but the frustration arises when I hear of crap like this. I am a 20-year-old college student from a large family with no money, yet I still spared the $20 because I feel NS and it's continuation is worth it. I derive so much enjoyment from the game, I've never even once looked back and wished I hadn't donated.

I also never expect anything special when I go into a server, in fact, I never mention my icon or that I donated unless someone asks specifically. I gave because there was a need, and I felt it was worth it, not for the icon (though it's a cool bonus)

Why do you care about comments like those?

If i did donate, which i didnt, i wouldnt care what other people thought of my donation, because i donated to ease financial pressure on the dev's behalf, not so that everyone thanked me on the server.

Just ignore those who critisise you for donating.

But seriously it does go to show just how much of an investment Flayra has made to NS, not to mention to fact that he doesn't work to keep NS alive with patches.

I don't doubt that flayra has made a big investment in ns, I just think its hystericaly funny to make a statement like that.

Well... now that I think about it the alien chuckle is really one GLORIOUS piece of work! Muhahhaha.

If you listen to the 'squad' chats in order, it's obvious the guy was making them in a row. He sounds relieved to be done recording at squad four and five.

Personally, I think the problem is that a lot of cost members are acting like they should get special treatment because they donated to NS. *cough*
  • FieariFieari Join Date: 2002-10-22 Member: 1566Members, Constellation
The only special treatment I want is not to be insulted based on the sole factor that I gave money to the development of NS. That's the ONLY treatment I want. Just to not be insulted for it. Is that too much to ask?

Like I've said, I don't have that attitude and have not met people who have it. If I do, I will have some words with them because I don't think that's right.

We could have differant ideals of humour here, whilst I think some of the sounds in NS are humerous, overall its a very professional job. And I'm not lieing: Flayra and the devs have and continue to make a tremdous contribution in NS in the forms of money and time.

Well I just donated again to Flayra, I hope he likes it.
(And I had just paid off all my credit cards.. *shakes head*)
This is the third time I have donated and I no doubt will do it a 4th and a 5th.

I know it doesn't have the same value as it did back when I first donated (1.1 was being developed )
But I know that Charlie needs all the help we can give!

I am going to make a thread to find out how many Constellation members there are.

Fortunately, I haven't run accross this yet. When 2.0 first came out I had a lot of people ask about the icon and most seemed to think it was a nice gesture. A couple of people I have quickly chatted with seemed to be a little perplexed that I would donate money to a free game, but they have a right to their opinion.

I would venture a guess that a lot of the "Constellation Haters" are probably immature teenagers who have had everything handed to them and never worked for anything to understand the amount of time and effort put into something of Natural Selections' magnitude. BTW, I'm not implying that all teenagers are immature, etc, so no flames please.

Though it probably won't happen anytime soon, I'm looking forward to the day when most of the people playing have icons next to their names.
