Actually if he also did that to the PG then they would be inaccessible,as it would block all entities....unless they implement some kind of team checker :\
For now they are both just VERY lame tactics, including the P one,it winds up in both categories anyway.PG blocking not sure....but to find out you would have to ask the coders themselves, and they are already having enough time working on the mod

Well here's my take, and it does overlap on other people's posts.
Number one - I, personally, in my own mind, do not see it as an exploit. Mostly because you need to be good to pull it off, and secondly its countered by shooting the chamber. To me, its a watered down version of perma-webbing the IP. At least this way I get to shoot back.
Now, next point - if its used to drag out a game (alongside spam of LOLOL N00B RINES) then I view it as very bad sportsmanship, and I tend to F4 as I put it alongside Devour IP Camping.
Third point - Just because the UK league see it as cheap, does not mean every admin in the world does.
Fourth point - Running off and complaining and looking for "proof" that you got cheated out of a win purely because you overlooked the possibility of a gorge hitting your base, is EXTREMELY bad sportsmanship. You got beaten because you did not protect yourself against this possibility. You should accept this and be a little more wiser in future. NOT look for some bit of text saying that you got cheated. If you were on the UK league match, then all very well. However, you're not. So you can't complain.
Bottom line - if they can build chambers on your IP, they can spam web you and you will have NO chance of escaping. UK league servers view it as an exploit, but at the same time (AFAIK) they also do NOT use an unstuck mod. So its far more serious than on most servers. Losing over something so trivial really sounds to me like sour grapes.

Ok, a few comments about this: 1) He's talkin bout a war, therefore it'd be on a war server. And as a war server there was no extra plugins etc installed (EG: No /stuck. And don't tell me I'm wrong cause I know the exact server) 2) The really important question is if dev's think it is an exploit. Currently the only comment I can see on their oppinion is a quote from another thread, but I wouldn't put too much weight on that cause the question wasn't if it was an exploit. 3) As a tournament, it's sorta not justified to make a decision based on what people can spam about it being n00b to loose to it.
The demo of this can be found at http://nsplayer.com/demos/nspi/everlast_vs...gl_winners1.zip if you want to have a better idea what your talkin about. Those are hltv demo's btw, so apologies for the skins and names messing around a little at the start but obviously the HLTV support isn't 100% yet (or maybe hltv itself is causing that and not the ns side of things, I dunno. If you know how to stop this though please tell me ). The file you want in that zip is everlastvsgl_2-0210050328-ns_mineshaft.dem (It also has the other side of the war if your interested, that's of cause the other .dem file).
PS: I personally think it's a funny tactic, but I would agree that it's exploiting a bug (it's obviously a bug if they tried to fix it) and therefore I can see your point. Definately not disqualifiable because as shown here people do see it as not an exploit, but a rematch may be in order depending on whether it is deemed an exploit. It would be great if a dev could make a comment on this.

In regards to whether building on IPs is an exploit or not, I don't think it is. Quick thinking on the part of GL bought them time while backup arrived.
There are valid reasons why this may/may not be an exploit. But you would think that something this obvious would've been fixed after such a long period of beta testing if it was considered that bad. Apparently the IPs were changed so the marines spawned lower, so now they get stuck in 2.0.... like they did in 1.02 so I've heard, and I also remember reading something from Flayra about him liking the idea of gorges 'infesting' IPs and phase gates. It doesn't really matter because it says nothing about OCs on IPs in the rules of our tourny, but it's the principle of the thing (btw I didn't know they got stuck in 2.0 prior to this game, never tried it)
But anyways, here's the backstory to this particular game - I was the infamous gorge

The map was ns_mineshaft. We just lost marines in a 12:45 game, so basically we knew we had to win pretty fast. Starting at Drill hive, we got 3 gorges get 3 dcs asap, another gorge got U-turn, another went to dbl to cap 1 res with a skulk escort. Me and another stayed gorge but the 2 aliens that went to dbl res got owned after taking down 1 out of the 3 rines. At this time the marines sent another person to dbl res to secure it, meanwhile we were gathering outside our hive with carapace.
Five of us set out towards their base (2 gorges 3 skulks) while the last respawned and went lerk with regen. The marines sent another marine on route to dbl res (making 4 marines away from their base). What happened next went pretty fast...
2:30 - 3 skulks rush into their base with gorges healing, commander jumps out of the chair just as they reached the armoury which was surrounded by mines... big bada boom! 3 skulks dead, 1 marine and 1 commander blown up by their own defenses. Only the 2 gorges left. Lerk distracting a couple of marines at dbl res.
2:40 - other gorge puts down an OC, so I figured i should put one down too... the IP was close
2:48 - 1st marine has spawned into OC, the other gorge manged to jump and get STUCK between his OC and the wall, I'm madly healspraying the OC and the marine as he's shooting it, 3 marines almost back to base from the long trek from dbl res, 4th has been distracted and killed by lerk.... 1st marine gets telefragged in the next 10 secs
~3:00 - 3 marines back from dbl res, other gorgie dies unable to healspray or move (energy doesn't regen when stuck), while I'm healspraying the newly spawned marine. He dies from the OC he's stuck in... i'm circling the OC like a mad fool dodging the marines
3:12 - 3rd marine has spawned in the OC but is freed at this time and I die. Backup has arrived however... 3 marines die a few seconds later from 1 skulk just as they kill the 1st OC the other gorge put up. Lerk has arrived as the skulk dies from a mine...
3:20+ - another marine spawns, jumps in comm and drops 2 mine packs, but doesn't manage to plant many before more skulks arrive. The marines that spawn now are outnumbered and it's only a matter of time..
4:12+ - marines manage to get 3 spawned, skulks/marines dieing constantly, but I come in and clean up 3 half-eaten/gassed marines and die to another damn mine... we win about 20secs later.
----
Take that series of events as you like.. But you've gotta admit, the marines had something coming to them when 5 aliens attack their base with only 1 defender and the commander.
