What the strongest (best) real-life weapon in the world (WMD excluded).
Kindda looking for handheld or portable weapons, rifles, rocket launchers or something. I think the OICW would be my choice or some machine gun I heard about that shoots 40 mm HE rounds. You?

Look on the daily newsposts on <a href='http://www.duckAndCover.net' target='_blank'>http://www.DuckAndCover.net</a> and look for any quotes by JE Sawyer on the Interplay forums regarding the Fallout universe and weapons. He brings up some very good points of why the most high-damage weapon isn't always the "best." Example: weapons like the Browning M2 or various miniguns are useless without both their ammunition and the knowledge to use and maintain them. By contrast, revolvers are cheap, reliable, and simple enough to be more easily repaired. Both are equally lethal when used in the scenarios they are intended for.

Actually if you want to get down to it, any nuclear weapon is the 'best weapon' as it can kill the most number of people with the least ammunition....

Or maybe some biological weapon, with long term detrimental and hereditary effects...

It doesn't matter how good the weapon is at killing someone, if you don't aim it properly it doesn't do much good... For example I can sit here stabbing the air all I want with a knife, but to make it an effective 'weapon' I need something to stab it into.

reminds me of the joke about the network administrator from microsoft who went to a shooting range.

he took aim, fired but missed the target. this happened quite a few times, so he figured somehing was wrong.

he put his finger over the end of the muzzle, pulled the trigger and blew his finger off.

he shouted to his mate by the target "Everything is fine here, it must be a problem at your end."

the best wepon in the world is probably as inif said, a large nuke, or maybe a long length of heat resistant cable tied around the sun and then wound in, pulling the whole earth into the firery inferno

I'm partial to a russian Dragunov SVD myself, but it's by no means the most powerful, strongest, quietest, loudest or any other -est of guns or rifles. I still love them though, they look cool and are reliable and stuff...
