<div class="IPBDescription">The maps look horrible...</div> Ok I'm not entirely certain when this started but it was probably sometime while I was getting rid of a virus I caught.
Basically the textures on the maps look really... umm weird.
Its probably best if I show you... (see attached)
This problem also occurs with counter strike (and I assume, although I havn't tested it, othermods)
Anyway I've updated to the new nvidia drivers, and I've reinstalled Half Life and NS.
Heres my system specs
XFX Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4200
XP 2000 athlon 1.666 GHz
768 meg DDR ram
ASUS A7N8X Motherboard
Im NS in openGl at 1024 * 768.
2 harddisks XP on D, Windows ME on C (I run XP all of the time, ME is just incase XP stops working, and hey I've got 2 hdd.).

Another question: is HL the only program that this happens to, or do other games have these texture problems too?
I was thinking if killer_olie could post his system specs maybe we could see what is common, might help narrow the problem down.
I know what the problem is. It is when the texture settings are "optimised" on nvidia cards. to fix this, goto guru3d.com and download riva tuner, then once in rivatuner, goto opengl settings, then the rendering quality tab, then below it will say "texture filtering preferences" and make sure it says "determine by opengl application and not aggressive or otherwise optimised. Once that is done, click apply, then ok then your done!
nope not overclocking. see my above post.
Yes it does.
Im going to try uninstall of the program first, then uninstall reinstall of half life etc.
Any other solutions would be great.
Thank you very much, Cyber Mantis! <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
