Everyone is always complaing that Marines never win. I have won 8/9 games as commander in one day . Truthfully. The reason we lost that one game was because marines were running around not Listening to me!!! They were breaking apart and not working as a team. But other then that comming for me is so much easier in 2.0 and 2.01 b then in 1.4. It is a lot less stressful. So guys I am here to CONFIRM that. MARINES CAN EASILY WIN!!! if they work as a team. I am gonna make a freaking Manual for marines so they can realise this is not CS I am gonna make a basic marine Manual anyone want to help out with this? COME GET SOME COME GET SOME

its like playing against the own team.
and later he will vote eject the comm for not dropping guns.
I can only agree that Marines can win easily in 2.0
I do really want Flayra to continue though. It's important to remember these are experiments, not meant to be final solutions, but rather to see how the dynamics change so that a proper solution can be invented.

I was 11/12 after my first two days. I'm now around 55/65, I think... Seen a lot more horrible marine teams that just won't listen. However, yes, it's true, most marine losses involve an incompetent comm, but that doesn't make the game balanced. It just makes most comms incompetent.
A lot of the time where I play a Marine and we lose is because the comm has quite simply done stupid things, such as:
a) spent well over 100 resources spamming pointless medpacks and ammo.
b) equipped everyone with a nade launcher while we have no upgrades.
c) placed res towers / TF's for a single marine near an enemy base where enemies can easilly be heard/seen (he gets killed 3 seconds later while building)
d) dropped HA/HMG constantly, while never dropping welders.
e) put up a TF, then 'forget' to put up turrets to guard it - or worse, leave open a huge blind spot so the TF gets taken down, and multiple turrets are lost in the process.
f) listens to the whiners who spam for guns, after they've already lost their last 2...
and of course: never giving waypoints or communicating with the team.
So far, I've only commed 3 times in 2.0, but I'm 3/3. Any alien can tell you that killing a fairly spred-out group of HA/Shotgun(HMG)/welder marines is an absolute **** with anything less than 3 hives (its much worse where Onos can't redeem while devouring), yet most comms seem to love giving nade launchers to LA marines, and they end up running off on their own to get chomped by skulks instead of saving up their resources.
I believe it's because 2.0 hasn't been out for very long, and most servers are filled with newbies. Many commanders are still learning the game, and some are just plain hopeless and will go back to Counter Strike soon enough. However, for now, I personally believe the comm makes all the difference at this stage in the game. Later, when aliens learn to work together (I.E. Onos uses stomp, 2 skulks eat all stunned marines) things will get much more even.
