Dedicating With Windows Xp

ok when i try to dedicate with windows xp ... this is what happens

i load game setup the server settings and click the dedicated box and click create game safely exits .. and thats it nothing else happens .. not even the msdox concol comes up telling u its being created .. any one know why ??

    Personaly i do not like the GUI for creating deciated games. I would create a shortcut to your HLDS, and make it something like this...

    C:\HLServer\hlds.exe -console -game ns +map ns_eclipse +maxplayers 22 -noipx
    Using something similar to this should work.

    -console will remove the GUI start.

    Actually, I think he is trying to do it from his client.

    Try this:

    C:\sierra\half-life\hlds.exe -game ns +maxplayers 16 +map eclipse

    Change to suit.

    Courage, we had that problem too when running hlds.exe v4.1.1.1 on win2k3. We switched to 4.1.1.1d and it works fine.
