Bring back advanced sight!

That was always my favorite sensory upgrade. It's much easier to chomp up some marines when they're glowing like christmas trees.

At any rate, AS is better than pheromones.

Damn... why noone actually thought about beefing up enh. hivesight so that it could get usefull to more players than in 1.04.

Would just make them glow kinda yellow... or make it so that they always have their flashlights on for you or whatnot.

I always thought enhanced sight was good as a lerk when you were flying around at high speeds... made it 10 times easier... anyways on topic: SoF pwns pheromones any day of the week, unless you have 0 clue how to find them... then it might be time to try it....

    Because the word doesn't exist?

It is also not a very hard word to spell ffs. It always makes your point seem more intelligent when you can at least SPELL correctly.

dude, he [edit: he = @egis] is right. How does you correcting his spelling help this discussion? Unless what he says is really hard to understand, what youre doing is completely useless and it helps no one.

I'm almost tempted to say that I would rather they left in Enhanced Hivesight than put in Pheromones, but honestly they're both useless.

What I would have really liked for the 3rd Sens upgrade: the ability to see the Health/Armor of any marine at a glance, like a red and blue bar above each one's head or something.

It's good to see that all upgrade chambers are considered viable, and the starting upgrade isn't always sensory, as I expected it to be

Try fighting a group of 3-4 marines with level 3 pheremones. It creates a beautiful puffing green wall, that has a lovely habit of completely confusing the hell out of you. Advanced Hivesight is was definetly better then pheromones.

hmm.. im thinking of an "infravision" sort of thing for replacing pheremones.

lightens up all the dark spots on a map, makes marines glow a la advanced hivesight, and they glow different colors depending on their HP.

I love nature documentaries. This is a little off-topic but...

Pheromones is a scent animals give off that influences the behavior of other animals of the same species. Attracting a mate is one of the purposes of pheromones.

    It's a real word.

[Edit] Predatory animals and insects can use pheromones to find and track prey. That is how it is applicable to NS. [/Edit]

Id be satisfied if they had advanced hive sight but have different colors for friend and foe (ie aliens = yellowish, marines = red). The only annoying thing with Advanced Hive Sight was that you cant tell the difference between marine and alien when both glow the same way.

All I ever use for sensories now is scent of fear since cloaking is a lot less useful than it used to be and pheromones, as most have already said, seems pretty redundant and less useful (not to mention aesthetically displeasing... if it was a more constant stream like a rocket trail or whatnot it'd probably look far better).

I can understand the problem of thinking up two new sensory upgrades, though .

The last sensory upgrade should totally be a disco ball. Stayin' alive, stayin' alive!

I'd like something like predator sight. Make the level display monochrome (blue for example) but brightened, so you can see in every dark corner. Then Make the marines glow bright red/yellow and the aliens a moderately dark green. Would be very useful for fast-moving aliens (skulks with celerity are insane - very hard to take down, but for the skulk keeping track of things isn't always easy either).

I think everyone already knows about this, but...

Just a thought, has anyone considered maybe beefing up the more interesting and weaker pheromones to the point where they are interesting AND nice to use and then replacing the stronger, maybe too straightforward scent of fear?

I don't think both of these abilities should remain in the game; their names and purposes are practically interchangable. I just wanted to know if anyone else had considered removing the stronger one instead of the weaker one. Stronger isn't always the best for a game.
