Or, maybe you need a custom model. I'm using a P90 conversion from the forums here and I have noticed that I somehow aim better when I started using this model. I dunno, some sort of psycological thingie.
When they are approaching head on, long bursts are cool. When they get there, I try to jump to the side and let them pass by and hit them again from the side/rear. Rinse and repeat.
If they have carapace and you only have level 0 weapons, kiss the baby.
If its multiple guys, short controlled bursts while MOVING AROUND are ur best bet, just focus on one until he dies, then move to the next one
that situation down the long hall... that is PISTOL TERRITORY!!!!! take him out before he moves around that frekin corner with a 10 round burst from your mouse wheel of doom!
Maybe it is because p90 doesn't block your screen as much as the default lmg does.

That doesn't work in 2.0...
Also, when in pursuite what should a marine do with a lmg facing a fade?as in if the fade was 10 feet and moving away from you

automatic fire in his arse then kick out your pistol and finish him
escaping fades are such good targets
I can't wait for 2.0, when that muzzle flare will be fixed.
Other than that, logically speaking, there is no reason *not* to go full auto as long as you have a good aim. There's no recoil, so if you can keep the crosshair on the target, just rock n' roll.
The problem is that a) many players can't aim worth crap, and b) those same players tend to get "lead finger," not letting up on the trigger even when they KNOW they aren't hitting the target.
I dont really know what to do when faced against a fade(with a lmg)---when the fade runs out of power or energy, should you go full auto on him?since hitting in the head doesent make a difference...
Anyway, here are some things I find helpful when fighting a Fade...
1: Fades have rockets. Which spit acid. Trying to hide around a corner, or at the end of a long corridor, will get you killed faster than you can say "AAAARGH! MY FACE! MY BEAUTIFUL FACE!!!oneone!"
2: Fades have big, big claws. Two swipes, max, and down goes your marine.
3: Fades are fast. Faster than your average marine. Blink means an experienced Fade can keep up with a speeding Lerk.
4: Fades are scary. People don't like it when they stick their head through the door and chuckle menacingly. It makes them hide.
So, here's what you do.
Acid rockets and Bilebombs give splash damage to Fades. If you think you can get there without being cut down, run right into the Fade. Acid splash as it hits you/the floor in front of you from close-range will hurt a Fade a little. That splash damage is useful to you, since your little pea-shooter won't take the Fade down by itself.
When you get in close, strafe in circles around the Fade. Might gain you a few more seconds to switch to the pistol and fire madly before the claws hit you. Also gets you out of the line of fire for your friends, who should be close behind screaming for blood.
When a Fade starts to run, don't think "phew" and head back to base for a medpack. If he's running, he's on low health and therefore is going to heal somewhere and come back with friends. Take out whatever weapon still has ammo loaded in it or will take the shortest time to reload, and shoot him, shoot him in the back! Quick, while he's not looking!
When you run at a Fade (and you must if you want a kill) bring friends. Fades are scary. Three LMG marines running at a Fade screaming and foaming at the mouth are scarier. Just point and hold down the fire button till you hear the clicking, then get the pistol and do the same. Then get the knife.
If you can hide in an alcove and get behind a Fade, do so. It's a real suprise to get shot in the back. Means he'll be weak when he arrives at wherever he's going.

Well, yah!
You are almost certainly going to die anyway. It's not like you are going to outrun the Fade, so retreat isn't an option. Your life is forfeit; hurt him as bad as you can before you die.
Just don't F4 at the very sight of a Fade. This makes me SOOOO angry!
If you keep on full auto one one skulk, chances are you'll either have to reload before you kill the skulk, or you'll only have about 2 bullets left when he's dead. Which is a pain in the arse, because there's bound to be another skulk around there somewhere. Burst fire works only to save bullets, because there is no recoil. But keep it on full auto, and you will run out of bullets right when you don't need to.
Also, a marine that's hopping around spraying on full auto just looks so naff/uncool. The marine who holds his fire until he knows he can hit just looks so badass and cool. lol
Uhm... what about the Skulk laying in ambush. I've seen many Marines forget to check the ceilings.
Click.
Most people just run away when they encounter a fade and die trying to escape. It's much better to attack that fade furiously emptying your pistol first (remember: click-o-mania ) and then if you are still alive use your LMG. Most fades don't like to hang around marine start with less than 50 hp, so you have bought time to your friends. And if you are a good shooter (read: patient) the fade dies. End of story.
Everyone seems to feel that LMG is just a skulk-killer weapon. This is true until your LMG gets upgraded. Then it will be a mighty weapon that's capable of killing fades, and even onoses (or onii ). Just stay calm and aim carefully (as carefully as you can when a onos charges at you ).
Phew. Hopefully you got my point
Persoanlly I cruse the map with my pistol and use it as a stand off weapon. 10 rounds of pistola can kill 2 skulks or nicely tenderize a fade. I Use my LMG as a up close weapon. I try to fire long bursts and get in turning fights with aliens.
Other then avoiding the huge blast of flame the LMG throws out here is no point in short bursts. (any one here agree LMG muzzel flash should do extra damage up close ?

is u face an onos with an lmg u could just as well try to poke him with a pillow...
But seriously
Fades actually have leetle tiny claws. When you are a fade, you actually have to AIM for the marine to hit him. So that just makes a fade that much easier to circle strafe. I have seen many fades get slaughtered by a lone marine.
