Accurate enough. I do NOT tolerate a-holes on my server. I don't necessarily kick/llama/slay people because I think they are cheating, but if they are yelling at other players, trying to "show up" other people, putting people down verbally, trying to "run the team" by telling everyone what to do and why they suck for not doing it, etc, etc, etc. We have a great group of people on the server, alot of regulars that play by the rules, help new people and don't complain/****/whine/annoy everyone else. I've rewarded a bunch of them with full admin rights because I think their behaviour is excellent and believe they are the type of players I want on my server.
Anyways, glad to see your enjoying NS <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> I generally only get to play on the weekends myself, stop by if you want to chat.

I would have to say the Admins in G.I.Joehosaphat are some of the worst I have ever seen. They routinly slap, kick and slay ppl (as wimpy pointed out its for there entertainment) I particerly love how they like to cuss at and insult players over voice com and yet ban non admins for swearing. I woudlent recomend playing there if your a good shot or have a high FPS, I got a kick warning for killing 3 skulks and a lerk in a row (in the wide area under Via no less) As for noob freindly I have watched them kick at least 6 decidely new players for thing like going com and relocating to the wronge hive and for daring to go gorge (granted noob gorges are a bad thing for there team but, how is some one who has never played the game before supose to know that?) Roobs no Time for muppets however is one of the best servers I have ever had the pleasure to play on, Even with its horrible pings (I am in New Jersey and he {it} is in south england I think) Players and especialy admins are vary pleasent ppl to play with Coff, Nanogridlock and STD are all great servers too! Oh yeah, although its hibernating right now Ryz=]DV[= server is a Great place to learn the ropes. Me(=]DV[=Trojan), Ry and Flem make a point of taking in newbies and showing them the basics of NS gameplay and NS community etiquette.
I have trouble finding servers. I played at EC twice, and a certain admin was very nice...untill the game got going. I didn't have a very good time there while the admins were there...Even a real jerk 12 year old was more tolerable at times, but this isn't for flaming. I like Team-Funs Allergic Reaction. I play there the most, and Ive fell out of my chair... 3 times literally from laughing from the games there. Sometimes an admin or two would be great, and it lags on ns_tanith, but its the only server I havent quit playing on. Ive quit several... I quit voogru, and EC, redphive, and even Roob's. Anyway, im finished. Give !!!Team Fun's Allergic Reaction v1.04!!! a play. IP is 69.1.79.62:27035. Ive seen an admin there once, and he was cool. Sometimes the players get a little immature but they all tolerate newbies....as long as they listen because the people take their time to help. Anyway, happy gaming.

It hasn't been up again because with Roob himself away we now realise that no one else has the keys to go in and hit the reset button. I am a former regular on GI Joe's server. The politics of it have mostly destroyed any interest I ever had in NS. Despite what they say, the admins there (Wimpy and GI Joe) are unreasonable most of the time. For months I watched them abuse players they didn't like, break their own rules repeatedly, and even occasionally go on admin rampages if something about the game annoyed them (like the possibility that someone might be better than them automatically means that player was cheating, even if they were running cheating death). The only reason I kept frequenting the server was because a lot of the other players and the other admins were actually decent people that were fun to play with. And I followed the rules. I showed a lot of respect to all of the admins (too much respect to the ones I've mentioned), and I stayed out of trouble. Then one night Joe and Wimpy decided to team stack on the alien side, which I detest, and when they were crushing the marine base, one of the marine newbies dared to kill Joe as a fade, and out of the blue, without warning (well, that's not really fair, about a one second warning) he llamas everyone without cheating death, which turns out to be four of the marines and none of the aliens. Suddenly, not only were we (the marines) outmatched and overpowered, but we couldn't even communicate. So I expressed my displeasure at the circumstances (my exact words were "wow, Joe, it's great that I can't communicate with most of my team now, that makes the game so much more fun!"), and I get kicked for "disrespecting an admin". That was it for me. I can't respect people who can't demean themselves to show respect in return, especially since that was technically my first offense on that server in close to six months. So my advice is to play on Joe's server if you really want to, because some of the regulars are really great, but if GI Joe or Wimpy are there, run for it.
Hokie, your problems with the admins should be kept personal.. you were kicked for whining about the rules.. simple as that.. it DOES get annoying. and since you know so very little about NS, CD, cheating, so on.. you should comment on that either.. I can go find hacks easily that will get by CD.. its not that hard. And just because you ask why we slayed kicked or banned someone and we dont tell you why, doesnt mean it was cause we are abusing power, it means we dont care about responding to you. As for llama'ing the CD people.. that was a common practice.. and no admin has any reason to give any warning.. it says when you connect that people without CD will be treated poorly... I tell ppl without CD that I dont care about them. and Hokie, you were kicked for excessive whining, that time, and previous times. Just like other people I will not name have been kicked. Its your fault for not trying to find out WHY you were kicked WHY everyone was llama'd that the admins will care even less for you now. You made stupid assumptions on it all and you cant seem to deal with it..
As for the other person who complained about the admins, I am glad you dont come back.. I WILL kick newbies who refuse to learn to play (dont say a single thing for 30 minutes, just run around wasting resources or whatever, not responding to people asking them questions so on.. )If there is a newbie who WANTS to learn and will take some advice I am more than happy to help.. I'll even go out of my way to do it.

I used to play there, but the slay teams, the random kicking/banning for no apparent reason other than that it suites *L a certain admin B*. Once the gravity was turned up to a point where you couldn't really jump, "IT STOPS THE BHOPERS!!!11oneone" it went off an on and as soon as we made the investment of a teamful of jetpacks it came back on crushing the entire team.

Sometimes I'll goof around and bury people (NSPlayaGirl is my favorite target ;-P lol) or myself. Anyways, the point I'm trying to get at is, don't let the one-star rating turn you away from our server. If you are a courteous player and you follow the rules, you <i>won't</i> be bothered. Heck, if you come on enough, Joe just might give you rights, that's what happened to me. I'm just trying to say, as long as you're not a jerk, Joe's house is probably the best server to learn on because I learned to play there, and if <i>I</i> can learn from those guys, I think <i>anyone</i> can. Newbies, never go on any server that allows its admins to abuse power like that. Always go to a server where the admins are under strict, UNBENDABLE rules themselves not to abuse power, or else you will hate it there. Go to the EVIL server. They have good players; most of the admins never abuse power (the remaining ones aren't too bad actually and only do it rarely) and the environment can be somewhat friendly to very newbie friendly depending on who are playing at the time. Red and cri. members play there often.
