What you need to do now is post the server, where you had a bad Newbie experince. That way you are covering both the positive and negitive. A side from giving a bad newbie rap to the server, it will put them in the spot light and they might want to change.
No, I dont think that would be productive and it would totally miss the point of server reviews if you just choose to list bad servers or just good servers. What was started here was a great idea to 'review' some of the most well known servers and report back in a fair and unbiased report of the servers strengths and weaknesses.

annyhoo, i'd like to request some rate the OldF servers, that'd be a great point to see if we are doing things right or whatnot.

we do try to be nice to newbies as well, the one thing i cannot stand is a newbie who denies he is a newbie, and refuses to be helped (nothing like being a commander and a newbie refuses to follow your simple command of staying at base and defend, he runs off and trys knifing an OC.. some of em you can explain a 100 times why that wont help at all and they just dont get it) If a newbie joins the server, and i am not in the middle of some intense game (i mean really intense.. like aliens have 1 hive left and i am a skulk that has to kill 3 HA/HMGers.. ) I will be more than happy to help them out (as long as they still follow our rules)
I am in agreement with the one star your server recieved for admins, the only admin who COMPLETELY destroys that server is you. All the other admins I have had experience with on that server were great.
My two reasons: 1. Your attitude 2. Your inappropriate bans ( although they are temporary)
I just hope someday I can be an admin with you on my server and if you so much as think to attack one of my structures then... BAN!

When I played at joe's server there were people voice spamming telling other people to shutup and all mimicing them and when I just say "Is this server always like this with this manner?" I get turned into a llama and kicked for the server for "message spamming" I didnt relize I was llamaed and all my messages turned out to be oorgles which was lame and I couldnt even communicate and you know what? the sad thing was I was talking about the game hoping to enjoy it.
I am not going to play there again. I am not going to contant the server admin because it would do no good.

I was on a Blue Younder server lastweek and 3 people with BY tags were playing on Marines and I was on the kharaa team with 2 other guys. We totally were kicking the BY guys **** and they got around to cheating! sv_cheats turned on all of a sudden (long enough for them to type "givepoints" 50 times). They started to build out side of the map (ns_nacy on the bridge) and set up phase gates out side. Then they were abusing the map and being lame all around.
I was floored that some people with BY tags would act like that. I don't have there names or the perticular BY server, but they did mention its not up often. If anyone saw this and remembers who it was post them here. They ruined a totally enjoyable game, and I want to report them to the BY admins.
On a possitive note.
I had a really good time the other day on the DEAD Clan server - Graveyard Scott you should be happy with your server! But where are all of your members? I see eraser all the time and Mix and Spartan but not alot of other?
Good server to play on, but pointless swaring can get a bit out of control sometimes <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> , plus this server is running 2 Dead clan custom maps, which are alot of FUN! I'm rather sceptical to any form of polling system or what-not reviewing servers. we do try to be nice to newbies as well, the one thing i cannot stand is a newbie who denies he is a newbie, and refuses to be helped (nothing like being a commander and a newbie refuses to follow your simple command of staying at base and defend, he runs off and trys knifing an OC.. some of em you can explain a 100 times why that wont help at all and they just dont get it) If a newbie joins the server, and i am not in the middle of some intense game (i mean really intense.. like aliens have 1 hive left and i am a skulk that has to kill 3 HA/HMGers.. ) I will be more than happy to help them out (as long as they still follow our rules)

I am in agreement with the one star your server recieved for admins, the only admin who COMPLETELY destroys that server is you. All the other admins I have had experience with on that server were great.
My two reasons:
1. Your attitude
2. Your inappropriate bans ( although they are temporary)
I just hope someday I can be an admin with you on my server and if you so much as think to attack one of my structures then... BAN!

and the flaming begins again . . . . Joe's seems to shake "good players" farily quickly so if nothing else it is a noobie server . . . almost all of us regulars are still at not very experienced level because so many noobs play there and so many "good players" get booted for "breaking some kind of rule." You can say what you like about the server but many noobs play there, many noobs learn there, and we are generally extremely patient with them, it is a noobie server and they try hard to keep it that way. So all you whiners that got banned for a week because your aim is really good realize that that is one way that they try to help noobs as much as it can stink for the other good players there. If you're good and you are owning all of the noobs the noobs complain and that's why they do stuff about it. Anyways. . . . chill out.
P.S. Lay off of Wimpy he might be a jerk online sometimes (always to some people) but he's a nice guy <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> seriously . . .
Is there any way you could post the link to the review of other servers (after it's posted), so that we might be able to find it easily? (Taking deep breath) Once more. If you have any issues, comments, concerns, rants, flames, complements, questions, advice, ideas, thoughts of anykind.... (pause for breath) with any server host or admin PLEASE go to their web site or email, PM them etc. I guarentee you, you will get a much more direct response then simply going off on them in this topic thread, let alone the NS forums.
btw for thoes of you who keep emailing me about more reviews... Keep an eye out for when 2.0 comes out. As if that wasn't enough, the server starts some PR stunt and sends several admins to the forums (none of which are forum regulars) to defend its image! Wow that was uncalled for, we only defended Joe's because we really enjoy playing there, (we were not asked to etc.). I am not/will not be made an admin, posting here isn't going to effect that, for any of us. If you notice, all of the admins that posted here (wimpy, joe, brisco, jim) agreed with the rating. Noone asked anyone to come here to defend the server, Joe and Wimpy don't care that much about their server to want to defend it like that. BTW any server that is heavily admined probally has a lot of unhappy/ bitter people wanting to state their opinions. If you want to look like a 7-year old throwing a tantrum and be treated like a retard, post a flame on this forum.
I always go for option #1, staying away from the server. Besides, whining about a server on the public forum just kills your own credibility.

When I played at joe's server there were people voice spamming telling other people to shutup and all mimicing them and when I just say "Is this server always like this with this manner?" I get turned into a llama and kicked for the server for "message spamming" I didnt relize I was llamaed and all my messages turned out to be oorgles which was lame and I couldnt even communicate and you know what? the sad thing was I was talking about the game hoping to enjoy it.
I am not going to play there again. I am not going to contant the server admin because it would do no good.

Critisising a privately owned server on a public forum = flaming. This is quite clearly stated to be not accepted in about a million posts on this forum. Basically, if you have a problem with a server, bring it to the people who own it, whatever you do, don't bring your grief here.

No, this topic is to help people that are new to the game find good servers to play on, not complain about servers that you don't like.
sv_cheats turned on all of a sudden (long enough for them to type "givepoints" 50 times). They started to build out side of the map (ns_nacy on the bridge) and set up phase gates out side. Then they were abusing the map and being lame all around.
I was floored that some people with BY tags would act like that. I don't have there names or the perticular BY server, but they did mention its not up often. If anyone saw this and remembers who it was post them here. They ruined a totally enjoyable game, and I want to report them to the BY admins.
On a possitive note.
I had a really good time the other day on the DEAD Clan server - Graveyard
