anyone know of a 24/7 siege005 server? or have it on their rotation?

Its not a real map. If you want an artificial game then go for it. I guess its good 1.1 practice (You can use HA/JPs and ONOS all the time).

i dont like 006. Its not just a textured 005, its changed completely. Also, when i Onos in the hive room i get stuck in the floor... and no /stuck doesnt work, only option is "kill" in console. 005 > 006 <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'>

and OMG i was playin 006 on voogru just now, and some noobs started shouting "NO SIEGE NO ONOS!!11one" but some peopel that just connected didnt know of course, so they went onos. And then the noobs went "OMG OMG COMM BUILD SEIGE THEY ONOSSED" and the onosses were like "Wha?" and then tehy sieged us to death.

Siege is ridiculous. The marines have a huge advantage in res node building, and it shows when the door opens and they come in with JP/HMGs while the aliens don't have the res for good evolutions yet(especially if they all suicided at the beginning to give the Gorge res). If the marines are any good the game often either ends right there, or they keep the aliens pinned in until they can siege. The more people in the game, the more horribly marine-biased the map becomes.

um aliens have the advantage on siege 005 big time cos you can blink through the glass as a fade then sit cloaked in the siege room an wait for the marine to come in a start building the TF <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

I like Siege 6, theres a lot more to do (defence-wise for the marines) than sit on top of some crummy makeshift bunker. The bunker in 006 is vvery cool, got the little slits in the walls and all, course you're screwed if somone (Kharaa) blocks the exit and/or Fade ARs into the slits. But its still cool.

I like the metal beams along the walls on the way to the hives. In one game the other day we had decided not to set up siege to make it more interesting, so we were holding the door pretty much the whole time. Eventually a skulk got by, gorged in the siege room and filled it up with stuff, then proceeded to fill up every room along the way with OCs and DCs, then destroyed our res nozzles 'til we only had one left.

So during one of our final attempts at rushing their base, I got between the metal beams that were right after a left-turn (I couldn't go any farther because of the wall of OCs and I only had my LMG/Pistol stuff). So I sat there for about ten minutes as our relocated base was being mauled to death (along with my teammates). What was funny though was I saw some Skulks, a couple fades, a couple Onos, and a Gorge walk by me, and walk by me again every time they Redempted, and they never saw me once. So at the end I was the only one left, so I just sat there some more waiting and laughing while they searched for me. Eventually a Fade came by, looking back and forth between the beams, and I proceeded to knife at him unil he sliced me to death. heh, that was a good game i iced 6 onos (me is Doom)
also i do like 006 a lot better than 005 the architcture is a lot better and those beams stop people hurtaling in with jps then again almost no one uses the bunker and it seems that on quite a few places if marines siege they are thretened with banning

i like 005 better, it just seems so semetrical... or something :-P

if the server has a gorge giveres thing i think the map is pretty balanced.

I like seige when I'm not in the mood for a serious game, but I agree that the marines have a huge advantage early in the game as they can cap all their RTs immediately but the aliens struggle to get a handful built before the door opens.
