<div class="IPBDescription">Whats wrong with my build order</div> Mkaaay.... I am playing ns kinda long.Recently i stared to com, and started to emply my plan:
1-2 ips
2-armory
3-observatory with pg
4-getting pg at unsecured hive
5-getting res nozzle at that hive
6-getting another res nozzle
7- upgrading armory
8-getting a hvmg train to alien hive / or building a phase near that hive and sieging it

Okkkk all is good till that step 8 .....Just cant win it ffs.I know that i should do weapon upgrades and armor and jetpack but i just dont know where do i imply it. At what step should i upgrade what weapon or armor when where?Plz tell me whats wrong with my plan, where im making mistakes and feel fry to voice your opinions about it , give suggestions.I dont want any "elite" plan risk all or nothing, starting with 1 ip and sumthing like that.I dont like relocation (doesnt work on most maps)I just want a nice simple 80% of succes pub plan.I play mostly on eclipse btw.

    Edit: Umm.. I didn't get it, did I?

    I usually upgrade when I have the spare res. Try dominating every Res Nozzle there is if you're facing an inexperienced team.

    mkaaay you upgrade before sending hvmgs to hive or after or .....when? What ya upgrade?

    my build order:

    -IP
    -Armoury
    -arms lab
    -res node
    -res node
    -res node
    -obs
    -armour level1
    -motion tracking
    -weapons level1
    -base PG
    -PG to where i want to attack
    -weapons level2
    -TF at PG destination
    -upgrade to siege
    -siege hell out of the hive

    5 mins tops bobs your uncle and janes you aunt.

    But again, its only about a 60/40 win ratio.

    I don't have any strict build order, I try to see what's going on and adapt to the situation.
    I usually try to get a steady res flow before upgrading, though.
    Around 2 - 3 rts excluding the one in base.

    xRavenx, it seems like you don't really know what strategy you're going on. First of all don't start off with 2 ips, always start with 1, and if needed put a second up later on. Now as you said you go to secure a hive first, howeer if you don't rush to secure another hive, the first secured hive is simply dead anyway.
    Basicly you need to decide if you want to go 2 hive lockdown (which is so friggin boring it's retarded) or go tech rush.     Have you guys found Res hogging to be a workable strat?

    What I mean is, as Frontiersmen, instead of rushing or hive LD, cutting off the aliens res by capping as many as you can and stopping them from taking any- essentially paralyzing them then upgrading and moving in for the kill. It seems like it could work well if coordinated properly, but your manpower would be have to be spread pretty thin.

    you need more res nodes and upgrades quicker.

    remember aliens need hives, marines dont, unless your playing with incompotent marines find the quickest way to JPHMG and use it.

    i would STRONGLY suggest getting at least one RT outside base before your obs/pg. I ususally dont bother with hive lock down, just go for 3-4 RT's, get level 1 upgrades and jetpacks then send a rine or two to check the empty hive's, take them down if building (fairly easy), get level 2 weapons during this stage then send them in to cap the last hive off, sometimes i siege if the hive is full of lame/lerks, but usually JP boys do the trick. Shame this wont be workable in 1.1 seeing as JP's will take much longer and will be far less effective from what i gather <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Armoury
    Obs
    MT
    PG at hive and base

    After that it's open ended. I <i>usually</i> ask the team what they want.

    i have a flexible strat when i comm. i'll use different strats depending on the situation and all, but most strats require rez nodes as everyone else has already mentioned. so i try to cap some early rez and keep them from gettin eaten. i go for early upgrades whenever i can afford them as they improve the effectiveness of stock marines.

    I tend to go for upgrades early 1 ip, 1 armory, 1 arms lab, weapons 1. Then have a team go away from the hive for res and a team go towards their hive to attack their res. Then continue with weps 2 and then armor 1 , advanced armory, proto jp's, unless we are getting owned. If they are owning early or I know I dont have many skilled players I go for early motion tracking. and if we've made it through and by the time the proto is up they have a 2nd hive complete I tend to go for heavies instead of jp's. alot of decisions are made based on what they do though.
