<div class="IPBDescription">duhmduhmduuuuuuuuuuuuuuhm</div> Question 1:
When I am dead, can the enemy read what I say and/or is there a difference between some servers (metamods, whatever).
Question 2:
Can anyone give me an overview of the hitboxes, rines and aliens, which spots are most vulnerable. If someone can link me to an overview, I'd be much obliged.
Question 3:
I was sure I had 3 questions, but I forgot the third <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->
TA in advance...

I have heard that a crouching marine is harder to kill because the hitbox goes through the floor he is crouching on or something, that's why i tend to jump and bite their heads off when they are crouching rather than biting their knees.
If that's wrong then take no notice of me, i'm n00bish myself <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
But alive players can still hear what you say over voicecomm even if you're dead.
This feature was unique to NS and that you could teamchat using voice while dead made it so that they set it so you could also typechat to your team while dead.
At this point (And I doubt it'll change), it doesn't matter if you're dead or alive. a "say" will always go to everyone, and voice or say_team will always go to your entire team. Simple.
That's what I thought, too.
As far as I know, teamm8's cannot read what you team_say when you are viewing them in 3rd person.
the enemy can still read normal say (I think)
And that's about it
As for the hitboxes, crouched marines arent a problem, its crouched in a very tight vent that is. (at least for me, i get 100% hits on only crouched ones), ones in a vent are easily killed by leap tho <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (also im sure there was a plugin to fix this problem)
for most of the creatures in the game (humans included) try to aim for their midrif, this is where most of the "WTH" and "LIES" and OMG YOU HAX" come from in this game.
The thing that confuses me is, i could be 40 foot away from a siege blast, round the corner behind another alien and still get killed by it, i mean really now, that really is lies on a big scale :o

We tested this some time ago but i don't have the demo anymore, i can probably explain the findings though, imagine these viewed from the side:
Skulk -
Hitbox is about as wide as, and slightly shorter than, a standing marine. It's positioned at the back of the skulk, so basically the head and shoulders of the skulk cannot take damage. The box extends above the height of the visible model, so you can hit a skulk by shooting about a foot above its rear end.
Gorge -
Almost the same as the skulks, except the box is more central, the very front, and very back of the gorge cannot be shot, but this is less noticable than on the skulk.
Lerk -
Hitbox again is similar in size to the skulk's, and central on the body. When the lerk is on the ground, the sides of its wings cannot take damage, and you can land shots about a foot above its visible model. In the air, the hitbox is too narrow for the model, meaning the wings extend well outside the box and cannot take damage. The box is also positioned abnormally low on the model when the lerk is in flight, meaning you should ideally aim below the central body.
Fade -
Pretty accurate, the top half of the head will not take damage, and the model sticks out of the sides very slightly, but other than that you'll hit it if you just shoot it's chest.
Onos -
Horribly innaccurate, the only part of the onos which will take any damage at all is the small torso section between the front and rear legs. Head will not take any damage at all, neither will the tail, and the model appears to be slightly off the floor. Basically if you're not shooting at the middle of the torso you aint hitting jack.
Marine -
The marine model is more or less accurate due to it being a very typical model shape. The crouching model is supposedly too low to the floor, but im of the impression that most hitbox complaints are a product of latency and the strange behavior of the skulk bite.
Run Baby Fade Run!!!

TeoH, you mentioned that the skulks shoulders and head does not take damage, just wanted to confirm that if a skulk is charging directly at me I should aim above that Khaara's head but not actually at the head.

No you missunderstand, the hitboxes were being compared against alien models as viewed from the side. If a skulk is moving directly towards you and you shoot at the head, your shots are passing straight through the 'head' part of the model and landing hits on the torso. So obviously you'll still be dealing damage.

Also I wonder if peole who have better aim are doing this as sometime I stick out my skulk head and get killed instantaneously!!

When you "Stick out your skulk head" you are infact sticking out the majority of your skulk body. The skulk viewpoint is not drawn from the head of the model, it's drawn from the center of the bounding box which is roughly around the stomach.
In otherwords, if you run up to a corner and stop when your view is adjescent to the edge of the corner, you are not hidden behind the corner. Infact your head and shoulders are sticking out infront of your view and will be visible to another player watching from around the bend. When you move forwards, far enough to see around the corner, half of your torso including your head and shoulders will be visible. Since your torso is within the hitbox, you can be shot.
