Ok, I know I might be a little late on posting about this but I don't know were in the beta to find it. I wanna see what the new 1.1 is like. I have seen a server but it just keeps telling me I don't have privliges to join that server which is kinda lame... Where can I test ns???

Um heh.. you have to be a Veteran or Playtester to play the beta builds.. its not open to the public

Probably not, he registered January 18th. Maybe the guy's just making REALLY farsighted plans?

Well I have been playing since 1.0 but I mean I figured it was gonna be like the 1.04 betas how they went through so many of them. There was like 1 or 2 servers that I played on when they were doing the tests. It was fun to see what they did. And no this is legit. Its just the lame ns site gives **** for news updates when the forums are hard as hell to find what you are looking for and I think this is kinda unfair that only a rare few get to participate in this event.

Unfair ? Event ?

This is not some kinda ride. One of the reasons playtesters are chosen is because of dedication. Stick around on the forums, help people out, offer insightful posts. It goes both ways.

I believe the reason they are only allowing vets and playtesters work on 1.1 because a lot of the changes are on the client side. 1.04 changes were pure server side changes. The reason may also be because the changes in 1.1 from 1.04 affect some of the fundamental properties of the game, i.e. the new res system, new tech structure, etc. It would be really hard to balance the game out if you had the entire NS community testing it. The length of time it would take to gather all the responses and organize them so that Flayra could change the game according to the feedback would just be prohibitive to the patch's progress.
