theres also a puplic transport service for players without a clan.... its almost like a trainstation there..
planetside gets boring pretty fast.. most players spend their life in that game to boost their characters to max, to rape newbies with their big llamaguns
and the most awfull part is you have to pay for play on their servers.. damn sony
Dam you made me want to go buy cake but the bakerys are shut now. DAM YOU!
Anyone Plaetside is good for a while but gets boaring fast. If you didnt have to pay to stay conected I would probably get it.
I agree yea its a good game but after a while its just as fun as anyother game you dont have to pay for. And think about it. $40 for the game then $12 a month.
After the first year you have spent 40+12x12= $184
Thats like the cost of 4 PC new PC games.

MMMM CAEK!!!!
I played Planetside for many weeks/months and diden't get bored. Maybe because it is so much to do in the game and you can upgrade your caracther, aslo get exp. points for killing enemys or taking over bases/towers.
Save your money for WoW. Please. Just trust me on this.
But frankly, after about 3 weeks, it just gets old and repetative. You're doing the exact same thing every day. the exact same thing. Taking the same base, again, cause you lost it at about 6am while 1 guy came in when everybody else was sleeping and took the whole base...
So no, I wouldn't recommend it, not because of any subscription things, but because of some fundamental design flaws in the game... :(
Honestly, it can't be <i>that</i> fun, can it?
Except, theres THOUSANDS ofpeople in one big war with low lag (supposidly) my friend had the beta, he said it was ill so im just gonna wait for him to buy it so i can jsut go over and play it instead of wasting 60$ along with the monthly fee but yea i would think its worth it, unless u like small, quiet at times games like these small stale mate HL mods. but if your into a BIG **** battle then i would get it... but of coure everyone has different tastes.
You start playing it, maybe get a fighter and start buzzing bases, raining death. Sounds fun? Well it is.
But, eventually, the front line disintigrates, and it becomes just kill for the sake of killing. No epic sweeping pushes for continents, just BF1942/Tribes2.
And that, my friends, is not worth 13 a month. I playtested it, and I'm glad I did, it was fun. But, not worth paying for. Pick up Tribes 2 instead.
Plus, I was addicted to EverCrack for like 8 months, so I'm craving some of that SOE sweetness. Bleh, I want to try it, but I really can't ignore all you people saying it's bad. I'm thinking I'll prolly wait for WoW, too, but I wish I could try PS without having to pay for it.

Spunky
It's great to experience once, but trust me, it'll probably be a waste after a month or two. I played it every spare moment I had for aout 3 weeks, and I couldn't stand to play anymore.
You'll probably jack one vehicle successfully, out of 30 attempts. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Just to add my $0.02 here. Planetside is a game that you DEFINETLY have to try. But like the other guys said, you find that you're doing the same thing day in and day out. I was in the beta and had exactly 2 periods of time which I put the game down and played something else.
#1. I found out they were doing a character wipe the next day.
#2. I reached BattleRank 14.
In both cases, I suddenly and without warning went from Planetside enthusiast to have ZERO interest in playing the game at all. I thought about it a bit and realized that I was ONLY playing to level up and get more skills. As soon as there was nothing to gain for my character by playing, I didn't want to play at all. Although I had an immensely joyous experience with the game up until those 2 moments. It's a must-try, but a don't-buy.
its fun for a week or three, but then its all downhill from there. I won't list specifics, there are far more cons than pros.
