<div class="IPBDescription">You worst experiences with builders</div> The other day I was playing ns_eclipse on a 24 person server. Our hive was eclipse and we had already had to slay 2 noobs who had gone gorge. We only had 1 rt up by the time one marine executed the gorge becuase the team was too ignorant to guard him. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Well after that happened some idiot decided to go gorge for 15 seconds and put up a <b>sensory chamber</b>, when WE HAD 1 HIVE. As a result we couldn't effectively guard any of our structures or choke points. Fortunately, by some act of sheer dumb luck the likes of which God had, and never shall see again, we managed to get a second hive built and surrounded by o chambers. But that is when it gets worse... <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

Our new gorge forgot that we did not have d chambers, so the aliens were stuck with sensory and movement chambers with 2 hives and the third under lockdown.

Our fades broke down crying when they realized they were stuck in a HA HMG/Grenade battle without regeneration or carapace.     3 sense chambers for a full level cloak can be very helpful, but they only built <i>1 sense chamber</i>, so the cloak was useless.

    As for the sensory chamber first strategy, it isn't my favorite building plan, but thats only my opinion. I would much more prefer to get the regen adreniline combo for the fade, then have stealthy skulks. Stealth skulks are great for a killing marine rez nodes, however our present situation would not of allowed for such a strategy. And thats because the marines already had 4 defended nodes. I have to admit they had an excellent COMM.

    I twas a gorge, and decided to build on a "weak spot" and it seems the buildings fell through the floor 1/2 way and were fused into one another, including the res tower and me with it <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> being inbetween d,s os, and a res tower isnt fun (no i couldnt build movments <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo-->) it was so wet...so tight....felt like....nvm


    Also, i wasnt a comm but in ns_nancy near the red room in that vent he decided to build a tf to seige in the vent and they sank too, ended up trying it 2 times +1 turrent, all those res.. then the 3 unlucky marines including me were a main course for 5 skulks

    lvl1 90% cloak, slow cloak time

    lvl2 90% cloak, faster cloak time

    lvl3 90% cloak, fastest cloaktime

    EACH LEVEL OF SENSORY DOES NOT INCRESE THE PERCENTAGE OF CLAOK!!!!! ITS THE SAME EACH LEVEL. the only thing that changes is the speed in wich you cloak after stoping.

    I get the feeling that was his point, Night. Level 1 cloak is even more useless than the other levels, given how long you have to stay still. You can't dart around a corner, freeze, and go cloaked to throw off a pursuing Marine anywhere NEAR as easy with level 1 as with level 3. Similar, it's a lot harder to stop chewing on an RT when you hear Marines coming to defend/weld it when you have to wait that long.

    Ugh, we tried getting sens and mov first on eclipse, as a test. We ended up with the marines hiding out in the eclipse hive, and the aliens desperately trying to assault with no carapace and two full-time healing gorges on standby. Not much fun

    hmm... well, there was this one gorge who built O chambers on half the res nodes in Eclipse and proceded to spit on them (i suppose he meant to speed up there growth.. i guess) and he either wasnt listening or couldnt speak english cause he wouldnt stop, no matter what... the marine team wiped the floor with us, laughing the whole time... ****.. <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->

    and then there was that one guy, hes probably banned by now from most all servers, who repeatedly joined random servers, took com, and proceded to recycle the whole base building com chairs instead, whilst chanting "the KKK is getting bigger, so grab a stick and beat the n-----" im sure somone else here has run into this jerk...
    well, i had the displeasure to run into this guy... 3 times in a row on 3 diffrent servers, the third time i managed to type in a warning to the com NOT to let him in... but he did anyway and ruined the game. well, thats what you get for ignoring the chat. <!--emo&:angry:--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'><!--endemo-->

    sens at first hive can be good if u end the game quickly

    The worst gorge. Why thats obviously. After wondering where our gorge had been for the past ten minutes I found him in a dead end room building wasting all of our res on ocs and dcs. When I asked what he was doing. His mic can on and he spoke "LOL LOL LOL DUDE. MAN. DUDE. I am sooo high right now, lol lol lol lol *cough* cough*. Man This is soo funny"
    When after a min of talking to him I got him to stop. Ten minutes later he at it again. I ask him why. He replies "Wha, you never, wait. O ya I forgot man I'm sorry" That repeated a couple more times.

    This is sort of off topic but wouldnt it be great if once you lose the upgrade type of the hive, you can build a different upgrade type?

    For example if you gotten defense for the first hive and somehow marine shoot them down. But your team have no other defense chambers around, so then you can build a different upgrade chamber.

    Since destoryed upgrade chambers no longer has a lingering effect on the alien player, wouldn't it make sense to clear the upgrade icon?

    On some servers they have a plugin where you can recycle your buildings, but they still wont allow the alien team to choose another alternative after recycling the last of the upgrade chambers. If we could rechoose our upgrades after they are recycled, I think it would make the gorge play somewhat newbie safe.

    Hmmm.. I always find cloaking kindof useless because it makes that stupid sound which totally gives away the fact that theres a cloaked alien nearby. I wonder if silence will silence that noise in 1.1?

    My worst experience with a com (besides me sucking as com) was when this dude, Alias Violator, was being com, and all he did was drop mines so the explosion would be bigger when the fades came. He really didnt seem to care about the players around him <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Also my worst experience as a gorge is basicly any time I gorge and someone else is yelling at me for doing so. Has anyone here realised that having multiple gorges can be an effective strategy? Its grat to have somone building 0 towers and whatnot while another is saving for the next hive..... It ticks me off

    I find that most mariens dont pay very close attention to quiet sounds like that...but i dont see why cloaking would make a sound like that anyway???..hmm..i hope they just get rid of the sound in 1.1

    Because other than the actual sensory chamber, it is hard to tell the alien has cloaking. Even after getting slaughtered blindly, it takes quite some time for an average marine to figure out that the aliens are cloaking (that is if there are no sound of cloak).

    i thoguth it affected both, i knew i cloaked faster with more sens tho but i thought it affected cloak level too
