sorry if its been disscuesd already, but i did a quick search for "fps evolve" and said it didn`t find anything.
ok.
does higher fps make u evolve faster?
when i`am evolving i look around at 50 odd fps and see i`am going at a standard pace, then i look at the floor and i go to 99 fps and it seems the bar moves faster.
or is it just an illiusion?
also, if the fps depends on how fast u build, what fps is the hive useing to build?

The hive has a timer for building, not other method.
1. bust out a stopwatch
2. set fps_max to 30
3. evolve to gorge and time it
4. set fps_max to 100
5. evolve to gorge and time it
6. do the math and see what you get
I would think it's on a timer

I'd think a single marine building a structure by himself would also be on a timer... Since that's not true, I'm willing to bet neither is evolution. I think evolution/welding/building/alien energy regen and of course the infamous jetpack fuel regen are all based upon the same client side framerate dependant code.
Thx fellas.
60 is enough for any man/woman/puppydog.
But that's just me I guess...

Why that isn't feasible:

That still doesn't fix the disparity, it only lessens the range of it

Different Video cards, Different Computers, Different People = Different Settings

I for instance, set max_fps at 35 when I'm playing by modem, and max_fps at 100 when playing LAN/High Speed connection. Its much more feasible for Flayra to employ a timer.
****, it isn't the fuel recharge rate that fuxors the jetpacks, it is the thrust the jetpack gives that is affected by your fps.
How else would you explain that <20 fps(strangely, the limit seems to be exactly 20 fps, more than that and you can fly, barely. Has anyone made a mathematical equation on this?) people can't even lift in the first place?
Having checked out this as part of my VSYNC and FPS guide I can tell you that it IS the jetpack THRUST not the recharge rate that is affected by fps.
We all know build speed is affected too (in 1.04) but we are assured this is being worked on in 1.1
Alien energy recharge rate is NOT affected by fps currently.
Follow my guide for some important steps you need to take to maximise your gaming experience, and it's NOT only about fps, some of you may be running at 100fps but still have 60Hz refresh rate in game (because vsync is disabled) and not know it, due to a bug in win2k and winXP. Go Check it out!.

Roo
but still unfortunate that the fps was gonna be an unpredicted problem or else flarya would be fair and set everything timer wise, but we gotta wait for 1.1.

As far as I know, leap is also affected. There was some testing done in this thread.
Can you say that for sure? I watched a demo in which a lerk flies around for ages with minimal landing (and no he didn't use cheats). I can only explain it by guessing that his adrenaline recharges faster due to a higher fps rate. Of course I compared his exploits with mine in this respect.

That's because the lerk has adrenaline and/or is gliding.
